So i've been seeing a ton of threads about the GS system, with all differing opinions. So I thought, instead of having a ton of them spread out, why not put them in one place? So, I give you, the gearscore thread!
Few things to note:
1. Please don't just say "lol gs sucks" or "dude wtf gs iz awesome!". This doesn't help. Get some proof or ideas.
2. This is not your personal "OMG GS GOT ME KICKED" thread. Don't just tell us a story of you getting kicked. Give us a question you want answered, such as "was this guy being an ass?" or say how this helps prove your side of the argument.
3. This is not a two sided argument. it's not just it doesn't help or it does. It might help some, and might just give you a useful tool for gearing up your guy. Don't think that because someone doesn't agree with you that they are automatically against you in every way.

The whole point I had for making this thread was so we wouldn't have a ton of GS threads floating around like we do now. It seems to me like that would be something you would want.

Nobody wants your GS thread, and nobody needs it either. Especially with the restrictions you're requesting, there's nothing to talk about. Nobody has "questions" about it; it's pretty straightforward.
Some moron made up some numbers, assigned them to gear, and made an add-on. What's to understand? Either you like it, because you somehow are a well-geared person with no in-game friends to run with and this helps you avoid recruiting undergeared people, or you hate it because you've got one or two low-ilevel pieces that are well-itemized and people are treating you like a scrub for the crime of actually looking at the stats on gear instead of just the item level.
There really are just two sides to this, unless you count the third side that's just tired of hearing about it. If I'm running a pug raid and someone starts whining about somebody's gearscore, I'm kicking them, period. We're pugging the weekly, for crying out loud. It's ilevel-213 content, for the most part, and we're all rocking 232 Triumph gear at the least.
I was in an Ony last weekend where some moron who didn't even have assist was gearchecking people and talking trash about some tank with under 30k health.
The problem? He had gearchecked a healer. Apparently the enormous mana pool hadn't tipped him off. He was too busy looking at his pretty GS numbers. I wasn't RL either, but I told him to shut the hell up and you know what happened? We won. Because it's freaking Onyxia, and the only way you're wiping there is if you do something stupid.

Look if you think it's a stupid idea for a thread for this, just don't post and let it die out. But the fact is, your post is very close-minded. You say that your "you don't have friends and are somehow well geared" if you like the addon. Not true. Some people just don't join raiding guilds. And it seems to me like you hate it, which makes your part about "you hate it because you've got one or two low-ilevel pieces that are well-itemized and people are treating you like a scrub for the crime of actually looking at the stats on gear instead of just the item level", while your saying that "Oh we're all decked out in ilevel 232 gear". Also, your toon that you have linked to your account is only up to naxx level of raiding, so I would like to ask how you would have downed onyxia.
