Very noob questions about Tier sets

Hi all,

I was looking at the armoury of a forum "colleague" that was wearing set pieces from different tiers and in the list of pieces you get when you get on items it looked liked it considered as "working together" items from different tiers.

The question is, item from different tiers complete each other?

The real answer is a little more complicated. I’ll try and keep it simple.
Say, for example, that you have a regular, flat piece of t9. That T9 WILL NOT match with, 8, 10 or any other set, BUT it WILL work with 9.5 and 9.75.

Having one piece of Tier 10 regular, and one piece 10.5, the "sanctified" WILL MATCH and you will get the set bonus. The version of the tier does not have to be the same, the number of the tier does.

For PvP, things work a little differently. In WotLK at least, PVP sets match at all times. A piece of Hateful gladiator's will match with relentless gladiator's to get the set bonus, any combination of PvP gear will match as long as it is lvl 80, AND it’s from the same spec. for example, druid resto PVP gear won’t match up with druid boomkin.

Additionally, you can have multiple sets equipped and you can get multiple bonuses from different sets if you can equip them all.

You can also have 2 pieces of the tier 10 DPS gear, which will activate the two piece set bonus for DPS. While also having 3 pieces of the tier 10 Healing gear, which will also activate the two piece healing set bonus.

T9 bonus: healers don't have Vampiric Touch to extend :(
T10 bonus: dots can't crit for healers.
