Lock Tapping and Healers that won't heal - HELP!

On my (level 42) warlock, I tend to find priests that will throw me a renew and druids that will toss me a Rejuvenation when they see me tapping. Now, I never overdid it (I say overdid because I now can use my felhunter as a mana battery) - I'd tap after every time I put my DoTs up so that I could get the benefit from Siphon Life, and then I'd start using Drain Soul on the target that was being focus fired, throwing the instant Shadow Bolt when Nightfall procs.

Make life tap a normal part of your rotation, as well as spells that regen your health.
I gladly throw a renew on a lock that has life tapped. However, I don't see the need for you to take yourself to 20% health after the fighting is over. You should tap a bit more along the way while in combat, and regain some of your health back yourself, or let me throw a hot your way.
If I have to unload big heals on you after every pull, I feel like I'm simply handing you my mana because you aren't using your own abilities that would help. To me it seems rude.

Don't be afraid to drink. Only Life Tap in fights. I have a 68 Resto Shaman at the moment. Believe me, Life Tap really does get annoying. I panic. I am just healing as normal, and then ALL OF THE SUDDEN, 5% HP. I heal them up, and boom, the tank plummets in health.
Just don't be button happy with it, and I guarantee you'll get healed. Believe me, you don't deserve t be healed if you spam it.

I typically don't mind throwing a renew on the lock when he is in need of mana... but what got me insanely angry was when the lock forgot to buy some waters and wanted me to heal his mana back. If I am drinking, don't expect me to heal you back up and have to remana up! At that point, it is effectively me paying for the waters you should have got.
Above anything else though, I haven't been overly impressed with lock dps versus any other dps. As such, it stands to reason with the ample supply of dpsers out there, we can get annoy with you and not see your benefit. That might be why the subject is touchy from our end. Simple benefit to annoyance comparison (though I am sure I might have opened a "well locks do the following for a raid" sidebar)

I can say from leveling a lock at the moment that using life tap can be touchy with some people, but others have said to tap all i want during a fight as long as we are not getting close to wiping. Had a healer tonight in uldaman say that he was happy with how i was only tapping during fights if i needed the mana.
Now I never go overboard with it, tap 1 or 2 times during a fight if i was low on mana or tap once after a big aoe pull just to keep my mana going never expecting a heal cause i am specced affliction so i can heal myself pretty good.
Basically, just be smart with it and im sure healers wont have a problem throwing a HoT on you.

Life tap after every couple spell casts. There's nothing more annoying then healing a warlock that taps his whole health bar away. Filling it up takes a huge chunk of mana at lower levels!
It's part of your tools as a lock, but use it wisely. ;)
This ^^
When locks do it this way, I keep a renew running on them to top off, every once in a while giving a flash heal when needed. Not much strain on my mana. Total tap-dump just means I have to drink instead of you. The group can continue with one dps playing catchup. No healer... not so much.

The issue seems to be warlocks who realise they have little mana left, then life tap their way to full mana.
As a warlock, I try to remember to life tap just once, but reasonably frequently, this helps keep the glyph up, and doesn't panic the healer who might otherwise shield me and through some big healing without realising I've not actually pulled aggro.
As a priest, I'll toss a renew, with chocolates, strawberries and a Get Well Soon card. When renew ticks for 2-2.5k, it easily outheals wisely used life tapping. If a warlock life taps his way to near death, he'll still just get a renew, he'll learn to tap more frequently and less deeply. The only thing that bothers me is when I see a warlock's mana is low, toss him a renew, and he doesn't tap.
To all warlocks: please tap frequently, but lightly. It's better for you and for the healer. Your glyph will remain active, your mana will be restocked, and your healer won't have a fit.
Healers, realise that a warlock's health is volatile - don't panic, don't have a hissy, and don't leave the warlock to his own devices. Stabilise the warlock's health instead of treating it like an emergency.

Ditto. I have no problem healing a 'lock who taps a couple of times between fights, to avoid drinking; I can toss a single Riptide and know that they'll be back up to full in a few moments. And if you work it into combat wisely, I'm not going to notice anyway because during a fight I'll assume you've taken AoE damage and heal you.
But if you decide to tap down to 5% health after a fight, instead of drinking, don't cry if I don't heal you, especially if I'm busy drinking myself.
