How would you handle raid IDs?
This is the reason Blizzard gave for not doing cross-realm raids.
Correct. Heroics are generally meant to be completed in a single sitting. Raids, however, are typically run over the course of several days.
Blizzard has not found a fair way to implement cross-server raids because the dungeon IDs would be shared across servers, and there would be no real way to schedule a follow-up to complete a raid. And they've said that they do not really want people to be able to chain-run raids the way they do heroics, so they can't simply have the random UI ignore raid lockouts.

Another thing not mentioned would be that raids require a much higher level of organization than heroic dungeons. You would be needing specific classes specced a certain way rather than just tank/heal/damage...people who might have never raided before queueing for ICC, subpar gear, and people expecting to be carried...and oh the amount of raid leader ninjaing....

first I don't see you ever completing it on another day. no communications and stuff...it would be impossible.
1 run raid...everyone joins and runs till you run out of people to join...might work but getting it started would be insane...healer looks and tank(s) are too low ...he drops lf healer
tanks says ah F i aint running with 3 shaman healers and drops... lf tank
over and over and over
I like the idea of treating a raid like an instance run in this environment.
====the way they treat the LFR would be even worse than the now LFD====
last night in pos the tank had a gear score of 3241.....WTF
I looked and I was healer and high gear score of 4500
hunter and dk were both in the 3300 - 3400 range.
rogue just looked at me and shook his head he had 4400.
I have a level 22 warrior can he go?

I'm talking about something like the LFD system for dungeons which is cross-realm and sets it up for you. I mean, did you seriously not understand this or were you just trying to be a smartass.
Rather than instantly flaming this guy, you could have reread your original post...Maybe you would have realized you weren't specific enough.

Its not going to happen.
To many problems with it.
Plus i rather raid with a guild then with a bunch of random people/noobs that will Ninja gear/drop out at random times. ECT.
/Thread.

I think blizz said they would like to have some sort of cross realm raiding in the future. However even if they do eventually add it how many people will do it? Cus you won't finish raids, I guarantee after a wipe you'll get a bunch of people dropping and then you'll be saved already, it will be a mess and you'll be better off running with a guild, kind of how random heroics are now.

I believe Blizzard will have to look at this and figure something out. The LFD has brought raids much more closer to the casual gamer (I'm counting myself in this). I would have never been able to run so many heroics, gather so much gear and so much experience with my toon without the LFD. Without turning this into a praise to the LFD, as it has it's flaws, I feel like the overall gearscore of every server must have increased dramatically since it has been implemented.
I can only speak for myself, but with all the gear and experience I have gained in the last couple of weeks, I now want to experience something more. My main interest lies in the lore of WoW and I'd like to see it for myself but I don't believe Blizzard is planning on a solo or five man version of ICC any time soon (there's sarcasm in there, I know it'll never happen). I don't mean that I would jump into an ICC raid tonight as I know I still have gear to get and a class to master, though I might be tempted if the system allowed me to, but giving me something to aspire to beside being overgeared for every heroic would be nice.
TLDR: Blizzard made this possible with the LFD, it's the next logical step though it has to be implemented very VERY carefully.
