Dual spec gear question

Hi...so ...im changing my dual spec to disc/holy from Disc/shadow. Im wondering how everyone deals with the issue of gem's if they are (like i plan to) using the same 4 piece set for both specs.
Also im guessing i should have 2 different sets of offset gear to correspond with each talent tree?
Should i use this offset gear to place my holy spirit/int gems.
I really want to gem the 4 piece set with pure spellpower is this viable? for both talent trees?
Any advice comments would be most welcome ty.

Gemming pure spellpower is only viable if you have no mana issues whatsoever.
Before investing anything in gems, I'd try to determine if regen is an issue at all or not, for both specs, well, mostly for Holy... If it isn't, go nuts with SP. However, if it's an issue, you could consider gemming SP+Int in Yellow and SP+Spi in Blue, always Pure SP in Red and colorless (belt). ALWAYS use IED in Meta. You could also consider using SP+Crit or SP+Haste in Yellow sockets, especially if a particular socket bonus is worth activating, generally try to achieve a good balance between... "regen and throughput" and then, for regen, between "intellect, spirit and mp5", and for throughput, between "SP, crit and haste".

Thanks for advice.
With gearing I suppose if you want the best of both worlds you may have to sacrifice a little throughput on your disc set to acccomadate for sprit gems which are gonna boost your holy performance.
ps. I have issues with mana on my disc set allright ,I can't get rid of the bloody stuff!

I use the following fairly succesfully for both Disc and Holy:
Meta: +25 spell power and +2% intellect

IED is a lot better than any other meta gem, while I admit someone with no mana issues whatsoever and with no other way to swap regen into throughput than changing his meta would be right not to use IED, in every other case, IED is the way to go, well, imho anyways. I'd rather run IED with 2 throughput trinkets than a throughput meta with a throughput trinket and a longevity trinket. Skill has very little to do with mana conservation, even if you overheal 0% or 100% of the time, you'll still want the regen.
I really don't see what other meta a Holy Priest could want to be using, please enlighten me with some sort of argumentation if you disagree with me.
