Any thoughts about it?
The only Shock Elemental is using is Flame Shock - and we don't need any cooldown reduction of that, at all. That makes
Glyph of Shocking
and
Reverberation
totally redundant.
Instead, put the talent points into
Elemental Reach
(2/2 points) and - in my opinion -
Improved Fire Nova
(2/2 points). The last point you could probably toss into
Convection
(last point, bringing it to 3/5).
As for glyphs, get
Glyph of Lightning Bolt
and
Glyph of Flame Shock
- along with the
Glyph of Totem of Wrath
, that you already got. A good idea would also be to get
Glyph of Thunderstorm
.
Besides that, I would advice you to
consult the stickies
, they pretty much have all this information already. However, I was feeling generous this time.

Yhea, but i was thinking that implying frost shock into elemental dps rotation would increase the dps.
It doesn't.
And well, fire nova totem and elemental reach are quite useless as a PVE dps. You should always be close enough to use Flame Shock and running and placing Fire Nova Totem is both dangerous and a waste of time.
Fire Nova is naturally only used for Trash-packs, not bossfights. While it might seem like a waste to run all the way over there, I can assure you that it's not, if the trash lives long enough. You could counter with "lol trash dps" - but it was a suggestion. It has uses, contrary to the shock-cooldown reduction.
Also, when is it a bad time to have more range? Honestly. And besides, Flame Shock is the spell with the largest range we got: 40 yards.
There's no need for Glyph of Thunderstorm since elemental shamans mana pool usually is more then required for most encounters, considering the mp5 shamans have while raid-buffed.
It's actually mostly because of being able to use it as a DPS-spell in close range, without having to worry about mobs flying everywhere.

Falsegod, he means the mana regen effect. The removing push-back is not worth a glyph slot. If bliz wanted ele shams to AoE dps, they would have a channeled AoE spell. We get respectable damage on single targets and more raid wide buffs than any class.

It's a minor glyph, not a major. It's the only minor that gives even a slight PvE-edge.

Astral recall glyph gives a better advantage.

It's not. It has very limited situational uses, and all of them involve being on the move and not needing to refresh Flame Shock anytime soon (especially those of us who still have 2pc T9).

On trash, well .. whatever. On bosses, you generally won't be using Fire Nova anyway. Although Rotface is an exception, because I drop my totems right under him, and it's a movement heavy fight, so any instant is a good spell.

Mostly you're right. We don't need the extra mana. But on most (PvE) fights we don't want the knockback (Saurfang's Bloodbeasts being the exception). And there is one time (and one time only) that extra mana/mp5 is good: right after a Reinc/BRez. In that lone case, mp5 = dps.
Yes, yes, I know, we shouldn't be dying in the first place, blah blah. It happens, and the faster I can get back up and running, the less likely we are to wipe. So, should you prioritize mp5 gear? Not remotely (unless you like being laughed at). Mana Pot, Thunderstorm (w/ glyph), and get your water shield back up .. these are our tools for getting back to full dps quickly.

Indeed, and I even wrote that in my very first reply.
