So the idea is to make this revolve around insane Windfury Procs and Stormstrike.
You're going to lose a lot of white damage (granted, since that is the #1 damage for any dual wielder), but you should see your Stormstrike and Windfury damage go up significantly. The question I have is: Will this make up for one another? Or maybe even by-pass?
Since Lava Lash is very low in the prio-list, it;s not gonna be a real misser in the rotation as long as you use your MT and FN properly. Also, if you're not going to be using LL anyway, it's not biggie losing Flametongue on your "offhander".
As for proper weapons, I was thinking somewhere in the line of
this
. We always did "share" gear with Hunters, so no surprise here. Since the whole idea is to pick slower massive attacks over quick attacks I left out the occasional 2.4 sec speed weapons, eventhough some of those have some pretty acceptable stats as well.
Think it might work? I haven't tested it (yet) because I'm quite sure there's people out there who did already.

Sure it would "work", just like a warlock could say they want to be a true affliction warlock and never cast shadow bolt and only use Drain Life as their filler spell. Both are strictly (much) worse than the proper way to play the spec, though.

Well, you could really just replace the words "work" with "compete". I'd be fun to see my shaman wailing a 2hander at an incredible speed.

Three weapons of equal ilvl. Though the 2 hander has slightly better base stats, the nature of
Stormstrike
gives the two Gutbusters higher low and top end damage (748-1390).
As the damage from stormstrike is basically the damage from both of the weapons in one attack, Stormstrike will hit harder with 2 Gutbusters, but not as hard with one Lightborne Spire.

ive seen posts like this before, its somewhere in the realm of creating a melee hunter. really, i dont think it would be much use outside of just screwing around in heroics or something. either way, im bored and dont use my dualspec, so i might give it a shot

1.) Shaman can't use Polearms.
2) See discussion on mechanics of SS.
3.) Spikey threat from using a two hander is bad news.
I'd love to see 2H weapons become viable again as much as any Shaman, but the fact is that the damage is subpar at best, and unpredictable at worst. We depend on RNG enough as it is, don't need more of it really.

Its actually quite good for one thing: Low resi targets in a BG. Im probably going to try it since i never dps anyway so dont need my dual spec. Just avoid anything that looks like pvp geared opponents and youll faceroll everyone.
