How many healers are you running? My face was doing the same, we got him to 14% pre-nerf and 9% after.
We used a DK OT. They can get ranged threat without cast times or limited resources. The entire raid has to know where the OT and the slimes are at all times. This will make the path shorter and more effective. Mages should FN once the slime is more than 10 yards ahead of the big ooze and in its path. We had plenty of tries with 3 healers for him to master it. They had me to elemental for DPS. That proved to tilt the scales.
Bunny hopping through the large pools seems to help, but I cannot confirm this. our OT recommend anyone in the slime flood to bunny hop. I have never had to.

We found it best to pop bloodlust on the pull as the most people will benefit from it.
This. Although sometimes we wait until after the first explosion so we know the tank has a proper amount of threat (Warlocks at melee range = not pretty).
We use a DK OT, he can hold aggro from crazy range fairly easily. He can also Chains of Ice small slimes for easier merging, and Anti-Magic Shell through ooze puddles turns what would be nasty damage for a different class into free deathcoils (=threat).
Other than some basic strategy, this fight is 75% about knowing where you should be and 25% having a good Off tank. It does get crazy in ten man at the 30% benchmark, simply because you can have up to 4 people indisposed at any given time, but after the nerf to his HP it really shouldn't be that troublesome.

My guild found it better to assign a pally as an OT and kiter of the oozes. We got that part pretty much right and the group avoided perfectly the boss' vomit. Hero is popped right in the beginning for that major dps increase, making sure that the crazy lock doesn't aggro.
The problem now is personal execution: people are running to the opposite side as the kiter, and now we have two gigantic oozes by the time of the second explosion. The second ooze just kill the healers, MT dies and it's a wipe.
I found myself typing the most obvious info on raid chat: find the pink spot on your minimap and run towards it. Not hard, just needs a bit of focus. Maybe we'll try marking the OT or get a person responsible for "pinging" the map the spot of the OT. I'll come back with news.
Raid ID extent FTW!

Yes we have found personal errors being the thing that screws us over. They are little mistakes.
When someone gets oozed they run to one side of the room where they think the pally is kiting with the little ooze, but in order to be quicker, run right through the raid to get to the other side where the pally actually is.
As for avoiding the vomit, easy enough.
We've also found when a few people have oozes, they accidentally run into each other and create a second large ooze, which is just useless of them.
Tres annoying, so if it happens again they've being removed from the raiding group in light of progression. It's like the next step of "don't stand in the fire"..."don't kite through the raid dufus".
