Yeah, it should be
/castsequence
. Your second macro won't work. With the exception of spells off the global cooldown, you can only cast one per click.

i would never set a cast seq. as a dk...remember we are not like warlocks. if you must, here it is.
Obviously you don't know locks. Locks don't use cast sequence at all. Not like we're dks or something (cwutididthere?)

How is hitting one button 3 times easier than hitting 3 separate buttons in a row?
Well the obvious answer is that it allows you to use a single key.
For people attempting to, say, bind everything within easy reach of their left hand (and keep right hand on the mouse) this can be beneficial. Of course it's really only that helpful if you have so many things that you're short on buttons, which most DKs shouldn't.

There is plenty of buttons within your left hand reach that are bound to useless things or unbound.
qertgfcxz 12345 + shift + ctrl + alt
Count the combinations.

yeah my hotkeys are bound like this
1 2 3 4 5 6 F G Q E R T
and then the bottom left action bar is the same thing with shift added to each key. basically i have 12 keys within reach of one hand. You can also bind keys to do actions too if you really want to get into macroing.
