Rogue dps: a different approach?

Ok, I know this may sound a little stupid, but subtlety for raids? Does shadowdance even remotely make up for the dps lost by not putting points in assas/combat? This is taking into account of talents such as Initiative and Premeditation (because shadowdance allows the use of that). This is with 51 points in Sub and 20 in other trees, however you may wish to spend it. I can't seem to find a thread in the forums about this but if this idea has already been raised (which i don't doubt), please kindly point the way. I would like a link to your builds in replies, if possible. Thank you.

no.
sub is a spec that really has no use in this game. it was a good idea, but reality said otherwise.
spec mutilate or combat.

Yeah, I guess I was just thinking maybe replacing backstab with ambush would really increase dps. Plus, you generate massive combo points with Initiative and Honor among Thieves.
