Hey guys I started my shaman a while ago and just started really trying to get him to 80. I've read most of the guides and recommendations for leveling as Enhancement, but they're mostly for 80's. My shaman just hit 70 and I wanted to know if my gear was okay and what should I go for. Should I start trying to get more hit or just stick with going for Attack Power?
I'm a pretty casual player so I don't know whether or not to use any gems now or what. Any suggestions where to level and what kind of gearing would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

dont worry about stacking anything at level 70, your constantly getting new gear and stuff and buying/gemming gear just isnt practical, while lvling id go AP or stam if u have a choice. also main with intelect is nice if you have mental dexterity

Your gear looks pretty solid for your level. Between 70 and 80 you want to start working towards hit cap and such, but there's no real need to focus until 78 or so. AP is as good as anything to focus on. Don't stack INT at all. You'll get more AP on gear, and you shouldn't be going OOM between Shamanistic Rage, and if needed, Water Shield.
Leveling, just follow the progression from Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord and on. The quest chains will lead you in the right direction.

Thank you, good to know I'm headed in the right direction. I know this is posted somewhere but what is the hit cap again?

17% at 80, with no Boomkin, or Shadow Priest around. It's about 460 HR, if I remember right. That's spell hit, but by hitting that you're well over the melee special hit cap as well, so it's all good. Can't be missing with those instant cast Lightning Bolts, and Shocks!

Spell hit cap (for level 80, in raids) is 446. While leveling, you don't need to be anywhere near that. Seriously, any hit you manage to get while leveling is just fine. Even after you hit 80, raids are at the point where heroic grinding is mandatory to gear up. You only need 140 hit rating to be capped in heroics, and it's not that critical to be capped in there anyway as most of the people you run with will be so overpowered that a miss or two by you won't be noticed.
Properly gearing up (in 3.3) is a topic I haven't seen addressed yet (and I don't have time to research it right now), so you'll have to do your own homework. But suffice it to say, triumph (and lower) emblem gear supplemented by heroic drops should be enough get you hit capped, if you pay attention.
Your leveling gear (especially if you run instances in addition to questing) is going to be replaced before the shiny wears off, so don't be too concerned about missing any particular piece.
The
Enhance Leveling Guide
(in the
stickies
) has been updated for 3.3. And includes discussions on rotations, stats, and spec, including the final 70-80 push. Might wanna check that out.

if you need it use jame's alliance leveling guide. Its online and free and make a great way to level.
You will hit 80 quickly.
I went 70 to 80 as enh and it was fast.
The only thing is there are not many (any) good weapon drops.
there are also a couple of crafter sets in the low 70's that will help too.
