it is interesting. Savage strikes, deflection, and counterattack should never be a part of a hunter spec, though. If in melee, the only thing you should be doing is wing clipping and getting out of melee.
Otherwise, in pvp you never know what you'll be up against so it has to be good against a healer - it does have some good stuns in there that SV comes with.

I think Deflection+CA are good to have..Wingclip is helpful cuz it slows, but a rooting is better. Ive got it and in pvp it makes a difference. I did an arena and got a CA off,, dropped a frost trap, and Disengaged FTW. Its not the greatest thing and you need to parry, but its still effective.
Also helps in pve when you pull too many mobs. If they melee and you get a CA, it can stop that one from wondering away and getting help

I was fooling around with the talent trees and I came up with this very odd hunter spec.
This spec is for hunters who like to PvP and kite (99% of hunters).
This spec wouldn't be good against a healer.
Well... tell me what you guys think!
PvP without Aimed Shot is fail. Even non-healer classes have self-healing abilities now. Hunters and rogues are the only classes without a means of health regen. Also, no Careful Aim or Lethal Shots?
The BM talents just aren't that good. Your survivability comes from resilience far more easily than paying 8 talent points for a tiny bit of stamina and some armor.
Counterattack is worthless. Even with Deflection, our parry is so low you'd never get to use it unless you pop Deterrence.

CA int worthless. Hunters stack Agil which helps up the chance of getting the parry. Its not something that most hunters use, this is true. I took it along with Savage Strikes. I plan on using very few points outside of SV so I dropped the points in the melee talents just for those times i cant avoid melee. But thats just me

TY for catching my mistake. Agil doesnt effect parry. Ive got Defense on the brain. And defense has no utility for a hunter

Think of SV as the 'tanking' spec of hunters lol. We can take a hit, have a decent amount of CC that we can out into rotation, and can dish out mean dmg. We are OP lol

What? All but two of the good PvP talents in the SV tree are also easily accessible to MM, including Survivalist if one wanted to take it.
While I do roll SV for PvP, it's because of the insane burst---not any delusions that I'm able to take a beating.

Being able to take a beating give one an edge in pvp. Its always nice to walk away from a fight
