Yoyo^^,

At first i wanted to say hi since im new here. /wave
At second a wanted to ask wich pet is best for lvling.
I know there isnt a "best" one but i just wanna know opinions. (for lvling not pvping)
First i thought Gorilla since his AoE attack, but that got removed?
Than i thought bear caus of the AoE attack.

Any opinions?

Gorilla AoE is still there....leveling a hunter as we speak using a gorilla. Send him after 7 or 8 mobs then volley em down and repeat till 80. I <3 my gorilla.

Ah thanks=D,

I got a bear now and its nice with his AoE.
Im not that high lvl yet for thunderstomp so i have to wait for it:(

I went 1-79 (about to ding 80) with a wolf of some sort and have no regrets. Not the best at groups of mobs but never had much issue with 3-4 or less at once. The kills are quick too. I've tried the bear but always went back to the wolf.

but to make it easier on yourself, you might want to go with a bear or a boar, something with a really diverse diet. That makes it a lot easier to feed them, and you don't waste time finding the vendor that sells meat or the mobs that drop fungus just to make your pet happy.

Don't bother feeding your pet, get minor glyph of mend pet at lvl 15 as your first minor glyph.

A nice timer addon for your mend pet makes things nice as well, so you aren't burning mana cliping your own spell.

Problem with that glyph is that you just can't spam Mend Pet. Like if your pet is at full health but is unhappy or content casting Mend Pet won't increase its happiness.

Seems kinda obvious but you never know... I still keep a stack of meat with me for my pets (all of them eat meat).

Yes, it will. Try it, and watch your log window; you'll see your pet gaining happiness. But feeding your pet does cause it to gain happiness faster.

Ferocity pets are even easier to keep happy, with a point in Bloodthirsty.

Oh really? That's odd, I've done it a couple times and it never goes past content.

But yeah, Ferocity pets are the best pet to have for leveling, not tenacity. Tenacity is good against multiple mobs, but ferocity will take them down faster (plus you don't have to switch pets constantly when you want to run dungeons). I think Warcraft Hunters Union has a good article on why ferocity is better than tenacity for leveling.
