I am considering making an alt to do all of my banking and AH. I have heard of many ppl doing this just to simplify and still take advantage of Auctioneer w/o killing RAM on your main. How does this work, it seems like you would still have to disable Auctioneer all the time, or avoid the AH completely on your main. Or is there an easy on/off toggle in the UI so that you dont have to disable the add on all the time?

On the character selection screen go to the bottom left and click on the addons button there. You can then choose what addons are active for each toon, or simply enable them for every toon. You want option 1.
