Hey everyone.
I have a question regarding my overall damage output.
Yes i have read the stickys and yes i have Ok-ish gear.
Destro is my MS raid spec.
Relocked
(yes i know im over the hit cap.)
My rotation is: LT -> Immolate -> CoE / CoD -> Conflag -> CB -> Inc spam untill Conflag is off cd while keeping LT and Curse up.
While my gear is constantly increasing, im not seeing any in total dps/damage done at all.
I really have to push hard to get around 5k-ish dps in ICC or
Tot(G)C.
While i see rogues/mages pull 7k with less gear.
On fights like the twins i can dish out around 10k dps.
So my question is, is this normal?
And what kind of amount do you guys pull on?
Do you have any advice?

EDIT: i just browsed thru the topics and realised there are a lot of these threads.

Your gear is great, your gems look fine, most of the enchants are good, could do with working on professions but around 5k dps with that gear is frankly rather poor. Unless you have bad fps/latency issues the problem must lie with the player.
For example, this is my warlock:

Well Outland has been kind of laggy lately since there are always que's of 600+ at raiding time.
And everyone is pugging their ICC rep runs, while guilds are also clearing it.
But i what i just cant grasp, is that with higher amounts of gear, is still do around the same dps. :(
It drives me crazy.
Since i could pull 5k dps in ilvl213 gear on patchy 25 man...
(P.S)
What i noticed is that the other lock in our guild is also not topping the meters..

yes its highly unlikely in a guild environment with skilled players that warlocks will top meters or come close to it, but we are still capable of outputting respectable dps.
something that may be useful for you is downloading simulationcraft (
http://code.google.com/p/simulationcraft/
) and simulating your character with no buffs (i.e. a target dummy) and then recording your dps over several dummy sessions (ideally as long as possible in each case) to give a rough indication of your tank and spank efficiency level. from there you could gauge whether it is the dot uptime/cooldown monitoring skills you are lacking or if the problems stem from movement orientated fights

Hmm this is strange.
If i run simcraft on a perfect inviroment situation its says i can pull 8297 dps in my destro build, but in my Demo build it suggests i can pull 8623 dps..

Someone else was saying simcraft showed a remarkable difference between destro and affliction, there's a thread down a bit from a few days ago. There is either something wrong with the sim, or destro is worse off than we originally thought (which of course is completely offset by the fact taht every fight has a "burn this now" aspect that only destro can excel at).

people really misunderstand the front page of EJ's simcraft thread. those sim results represent the profiles used and you mileage WILL vary.
just look at the (relatively) vast differences in the stat weights used by of of the specs. of course the results given will swing wildly with different gear sets.
overall, the results seen from places like world of logs demonstrate that simcraft is right. aff is above the other two and warlocks generally are low compared to all classes.
