Except for the new ICC instances, you do not need any kind of high GS to complete the instance reasonably.

After second wipe, players are free to leave or stay with group.
with no lock outs or penalties. At first I was thinking this would be great.
But then you are going to get people who only want to do the first boss of HOR or PIT
So they try and get a wipe so they can reset and do it again.
There is always someone who will try anything.
now kick do you get locked for that? I don't know I have never been kicked
my main is tank/heal and no one has complained so far :)
But those 30 second queues are just bs LOL

ok I hve to chime in here.
first, wow has a built-in gear checker (eg I cannot do H HoR even though I am reasonably non raid geared (well apart from my trinks and gloves :P).
next, why should the poor fresh 80's have to wait months on end in some cases to do heroics? the reason I say this is what about the poor sod who DOESN'T get the drops, or when they DO drop loses to the other guy who needs for it? as a prime example, let's look at the ntoc Banner of victory. you want to know how many times I have seen that drop? and I have done better than 50 at least probably closer to 70 ntoc runs.
not once.
does that mean I can't do heroics? not at all.
even in a heroic I can pull between 2.5 and 3k dps consistently, and that's with NO raid content whatsoever. in fact I can safely say I have never completed ANY raid ( I started UBRS solo, but had to get offline so never completed) at any stage. why? because I know I haven't a hope in hell of getting in.
for me, LFD is the only way i can get any decent gear whatsoever.
so to the OP. if you want to ruin my last avenue of getting gear? in short, GFY.
I'll happily run wuth anyone anytime.
I've only had a couple of really bad runs, where healer wasn't healing and tank couldn't hold aggro, and even then I stucjk around.
edit: excuse typos, I typed this after 2 bottles of bournbon lol

PuG shouldn't have to be a crap shoot.
But the way its setup right now, it is a roll of dice no different than say, casino. The problem is that Blizzard give players no option in LFD.
PuGs have
always been a crapshoot.
I say again, LFD did not invent the PuG, it merely made the process of getting PuGged much faster. On my server, pre-LFD, it could take anything from 30 mins to 4 hours to finally get that group together. And no, that's not an exaggeration. I have quested for 4 solid hours, hitting /lfg every 10 mins with " LFG to " and still not found a group.
You get what you get in random. If you don't like the look of things, the only option is to bailout asap.
As it has always been. You can't possibly be implying that it not only took you an average of 20 mins to find 5 people of the right roles for your PuG, but you also had time to inspect them, armoury them, and quiz them on the upcoming run to ensure they weren't going to slow you down? I doubt it somehow.
Pre-3.3 you put your PuG together, gave it the quick once-over, got started, and
then
found out your DPS weren't up to your standards/healer couldn't heal you through the 87 packs you pulled/tank couldn't cope with you DG'ing everything in sight/etc. How is that any different from now?
If Blizzard can tweak LFD away from "one size fits all" approch, it would serve everyone well.
Ahem. I believe I said:
No. It will only ensure that only the already-geared will get to run content that is useless for them. Everyone else will be left to struggle through weeks of normals to have a shot at a couple of ilvl 200 epics, until they meet the standards of elitist pricks running heroics...and then they'll be laughed at and votekicked for the fact they have ilvl 200 epics.
The way things are going, waiting for dungeon average time is about 15-20 minutes on my server. Waiting for specific dungeons (FoS, PoS & HoR) could take even longer. Therefore, its not that much faster than make your own group the old fashion way. At least, make your own group you can see who you invite.
So why don't you do that? I'm honestly curious about this. Leaning toward previous observation myself...
I would hate to be you. Your whole post comes off as, I have no friends and have to do LFD and its not fair I don't get to choose who I group with, without acknowledging people who apparently do know you won't group with you leaving you to LFD
I am not against LFD. It serves good purpose to cross realm Pugging and to provide undergeared players (greens, blues) an equal shot at epic (purple) loots. This made gear upgrade much easier grind...As far as time saver, Its seriously debatable!
Way to change your whole argument, bro. This is nothing like what you've spouting throughout this thread. Not even close. Through this entire thread you've exhorted the idea of having one group finding tool for the uber-geared and one for newbies and the sub-raid geared.

I tanked a BC instance (Botanica I believed it was) with everyone below me in DPS, all sitting at around 350-400. I have to admit I wasn't excited about it, but we still cleared it.

Just want to express my views.
There r ppl that r simply lazy -
I stopped reading here.
If you cannot see the hypocrisy of your post and the quoted line, I don't know what else can be said...
U should hv read b4 posting reply. U hv shown that u r 1 of the few lazy ppl I was refering to.
Omnibane, your message got lost at times in your contractions. From what I read, I think you are supporting a kind and friendly attitude to the LFD experience. I agree that a laid back attitude makes a PUG go smoother. Plus the challenge of different classes using different abilities alters each run to be a unique chance to have fun.
Timanous, please address the content as it deserves and suggest improvements rather then oblique put downs.
Omnibane please use common English and avoid contractions such as Y; b4 and ppl. Some of us on these boards are English as a second language and not having to puzzle out a contraction aids in our comprehension of the message. It also avoids sarcasm in replies.
