Red Mage > all
fix'd
Tank was an idiot, an upgrade is an upgrade, no matter its AH value.
BOEs are fair game to everyone in the group regardless if its an upgrade.

So the person who can use the item should not get priority. Yeah see my above post.
Whats to stop that person from selling the item themselves?

It's a potential upgrade for everyone in the group if it's BoE. If you can use it, that's great, if not, you can sell it and use the cash to get something you can use.
This is Blizzards 'official' position on BoE drops as well, as they have discussed in relation to the Battered Hilt, and stopping people from rolling on it after they have already completed the quest.

Blue BoE's I don't care about, just need if you need, but the last two posters (unless someone ninja posts) have a point. If you think it's silly that BoEs are all-needed for selling because gold is trivial, I don't see why you don't just offer to buy it off whoever wins.

Above poster is correct.
If gold is not a big deal for you, go buy that trinket on the AH.
BoE's are fair game for everybody, period.
Sorry to jump in here but, that's just a ignorant comment. Why bother going through an instance if you can't count on getting a gear upgrade or that special item you are hoping for? Isn't that the main purpose? I have never entered an instance with the intention to make MAINLY gold going through it, always to get gear first. The OP could say the same thing, if you need money THAT bad, go work on your professions or go farm.
You are basically saying if an epic BoP drops, I'll better need cause I can still make good money selling or DE it. I know this might be weird but, if I don't need it, I don't "need" it, except if it is a green item. Period! jmho.

On my server people just click greed for BOE epics. Yes they do. If it's an actual upgrade to someone he may click need. If the person in question is a DK needed a Je'Tze's Bell, he's booted from group and soon the whole server will know about it. Benefits of a small server with small communities who know each other well.

They're referring to a world drop. If someone is going to an instance to farm a world drop, they need their head testing.
Personally, I couldn't care. I would always greed, as the OP said, gold is trivial (and always has been).
Unless there is an agreement on boe drops beforehand, then you can't really complain.

I was in a random H UK as a resto sham. That same trinket dropped, the tank and melee classes rolled need. I did the same. We also had ele sham who lacked any decent gear. He sent me a tell saying it was an upgrade after I won it.
I should have told him to run H HoS for a
better version.
I felt like being nice for once. So I traded it to him.
