LFD Loot system FAIL

On topic: the OP has a point, say you have no mail users in the group, your a pally healer... Mail healing shammy gear drops... and it goes to DE. Pallys and shammys are very close in itemization in terms of healing, Intellect, haste, crit, MP5, obviously SP as all healers use that. so that item going to DE rather than you, as you need it, is retarded and in fact does need fixed.
This. THIS is exactly what I meant, the three times I said it =/
I was the only plate wearer in the group, besides a Warrior, so I was the only one who could actually use the Mail caster helmet, but it automatically went to D/E because I couldn't roll Need on it, because like I said, 90% of the LFD groups I enter where an Enchanter is present, everyone just hits D/E button on loot that they don't want or can't use.

The way it
should
work, IMO, is that anyone can hit need on something that they can equip, but
priority
is given to people who match that armor type.
So if a druid and a priest roll need on a cloth item, the Priest wins. If no clothies hit need, then the druid wins, bypassing greed/de rolls.
I've been burned on my druid by the current system as well.

Yeah, why can't it just go like this? This seems much, much better than having higher armor classes being unable to roll on lower armor.
And to all the people saying "Oh but they'd just take it even if they don't have an offset", what, like Ninjas don't exist already? =/

so the karma did really exist mister “all your hilts are belong to me” =PNot karma, RNG. I rolled greed because I couldn't need. I lost. /shrug

the answer is simple – cross realms LFD
What? That makes no sense. Cross-realms LFD doesn't prevent ninjas. =/

No, it does the exact opposite. People think they can just ninja because it's likely you're never seeing the persons in the group ever again.
Yes, that's exactly what I meant. =P
But really, classes should be able to roll on lower armor, but just have less priority if someone of lower armor skill rolls as well. I don't know why they didn't make it like that in the first place.

It would be a good idea and all, but it doesn't prevent someone who does have the priority armor skill from rolling need on the item, therefor ninja'ing the item anyway. Not saying it would be common for that to happen, but it might...
It would be nice if they DE system was a little different though. Instead of immediately DE'ing the item, it would wait until you leave the dungeon to do so. That way if someone needed the item, but couldn't actually
need
the item, it could be traded to them.
Unfortunately, I don't think the system could be made that way...

The system is fine as is since it meets a greater need: limiting the opportunity to ninja. I'd rather see Blizzard fix the itemization so that Paladins won't need anything but plate.
Though, I think the "need" is more self-imposed than Blizzard's doing.

Blizzard is not going to cater to just those three classes that can use the loot, not going to happen anymore, get over it. They probably implemented this to stop those damn DKs from rolling on gear with SP on it lol Just get used to the fact that you guys have to roll on your own armor types like everyone else, this is not gimping you in anyway, shape or form. And this is just 5-man drops we're talking here, you're probably going to replace that piece in the next instance anyways maybe. If this issue hurts you that close to home, there are other games where you can roll on everything. No Blizzard employee has a gun to your head. This great system is not changing anytime soon, so get with the times or stay stuck pouting that a leather/plate wearer can't roll on cloth.3 = 6? Who knew! In fact, the only reason it doesn't apply to all 10 classes is because 3 classes can only use cloth, and there's no Agi/AP cloth gear.
Grats on failing miserably at responding intelligently though.

Ok, how's this for intelligent? I just looked up the #1 guild on WoW, Premonition, and not ONE of their Pallys/shammys/druids have any armor equipped other than their current they are supposed to wear. So if the #1 GUILD IN THE WORLD can get by, so can you. Like I said this is 5-man loot, easily replaceable. Keep on crying about not getting loot, this is so funny to me. Tears make me troll
For future reference, lying is less effective than being right.

Sorry if this has been said, I didn't read all 6 pages of posts.
The system is incredibly flawed, but the problem is, is that it is only flawed to those that it affects, and "working as intended" to all that it doesn't. It seems that with Blizz, it usually takes some pretty universal QQ to get something changed in a quick fashion, and this only effects a few classes, and on some, only 1 spec of that class.
As for the big arguement about ninjas, especially that someone would use or even re-roll a pally to be able to steal all gear types;
I dont know what servers you all play on, but in the 3 years, and 4 servers that I have played on, I dont know that I have EVER witnessed a single piece of gear get "stolen". BoE's that could be sold, sure. People rolling need on off-spec with a main spec in the group, sure. Even dumba$$es like DK's rolling on spellpower plate, just because its plate...sure. But while wrong, none of those qualify as "stealing" the loot.
The only issue I could forsee would be enchanters needing for mats, but seriously, my chanters has bags full of shards and dust now, and their value has fallen so low that its really not worth the effort to steal gear for them.
I do think Blizz will eventually change the system, but I don't see it being something that gets hotfixed. More like something that comes in in the next mini-patch would be more like it.

Oh excuse me, top ranked Ret pally in the world
http://www.wowranked.com/character.php?n=Gray&r=Ysondre&re=EU
You missed one little detail, Mr.Troll:
Ret =/= Holy
Of course a Ret isn't going to have any leather/mail, there are no leather/mail pieces with desirable stats for Ret.
Failtroll moar, fail trolls make me lol.
