God.. I cant belive some people. You missed out some of the basic talents a hunter needs to tank! Im not even going to tell you what you did wrong, some people just dont know how to tank with a hunter...

It would be far more viable if Misdirection was buffed by a lot, to lets say... 10 moves in 10 seconds or so.

If you are actually tanking to hold threat,
Thick Hide
will do nothing for you, actually. read closely. Increases the armor rating of your pets by 7% (that's obvious) and your
armor contribution
from items by 4%. If I'm reading it right, this increases your pets threat in two ways- build in from rating and how much armor you pass on to your pet. It doesn't actually increase your effective armor.
If you are tanking, try
this
spec. Lots of agility (more avoidance), more parry, and it gives you the mobility to move back farther when you can but keep shooing as well as improve your melee abilites as much as a hunter can, since you'll have a lot of face time with your opponent. Definately get Glyph of Raptor Strike. For a hunter tank, its OP. But then again, its for a hunter tank.
Now on the other hand, if your pet is tanking,
this
is your spec and
this
is for your pet. Yes,
Silverback
instead of
Guard Dog
. Mend pet (from glyph) makes your pet happy and the extra healing (supposedly) generates more threat than a straight +threat bonus (and it heals your pet!). That part I haven't tested, but have heard and believe.
