that one trait that would have changed is the size of specific parts of the brain and if they continued to breed within their race and didn't mix with other races, then they'd maintain that trait of a smaller part of the brain.
You are not honestly attempting to argue that people with a certain skin colour's genes decided that, for a laugh maybe, they wanted to DE-EVOLVE?
"
Hm, oh yes, I notice that I'm programmed to make skin colour darker* than some-other genes. Welp, better reduce that brain size hurf durf.
"
Anyway I'm going to bed.
*I'm aware that the gene that controls skin pigment is not in anyway related to the size of the skull, I'm using artistic licence .
lostguide is still the best poster.

Yes, because the only difference between Europeans (or most other races) and Africans is one skin pigmentation gene. That is the only one that changed, nothing else changed. They both evolved separately from their common ancestor the exact same way except that one gene, that thought it'd be cool and change for fun.

That link doesn't disprove what I've said. I've never said that ALL black people are dumber than ALL white people, my point has merely been that on average, one race might be more intelligent than another due to subtle differences in brain structure that are more common in one race than another. We already know that some races more commonly carry certain diseases than others, like
Sickle Cell
, whose to say that the same isn't true for a certain variation in brain structure?
That's the thing, you're trying to argue absolutes, but I've never said that anything that applies absolutely (well, I've said that Africans are breeding like rabbits, but they pretty much are as a people)
Edit: Actually, they mention exactly what I'm talking about, they admit there are differences in ancestry that cause certain groups of people to carry certain traits. And that's exactly what I'm talking - I'm not saying that blacks are less intelligent because black skin = dumb, but that those who are descended from Africa might have a less developed brain gene that originated in that region.

My quote applies to you. Take a stats class plux.
Hate to have to be like that, but if you don't understand what I mean when I say things, I don't think there's anything to say except that you need to learn.

A generalization is a generalization is a generalization. You can't get around it, bud.

That is because it is an absolute.
Furthermore, have you read the book Guns, Germs and Steel?
In it, the author writes that people do better if they face numerous diseases and are able to weaken people with them. Furthermore, certain diseases are actually very good to have, like Sickle Cell.
I know some people might have gasped at that but Sickle Cell Anemia actually helps you if you against malaria. Malaria is one of the most deadly sicknesses you can get and it is constantly evolving and getting stronger, so having Sickle Cell would actually be good for a person.
Finally, the larger your brain is, the worse that is in fact. National Geographic mentioned that in their issue they did talking about the brain. You are more likely to have mental issues if you have a large brain. None of this really matters though since most people use ~10% of their brains. So, if you had an extra inch in there, do you really think it matters?
After all, women have smaller brains then men and if you trust IQ tests, their average IQs are 1-5 points higher.
I don't mean smaller brain = dumber as in that's what I believed. I just used the example that they might have a smaller part of a brain that having it smaller negatively effected them, maybe racial groups who are less intelligent on average have a bigger part of some part of the brain that negatively effects them with it being bigger, or it doesn't have as many neural connections, etc.
Oh, and I know about the whole sickle cell thing... but whose to say the same thing didn't happen that being more primal (or less intelligent) didn't increase your fitness as well? And yes, having a disease or not is an absolute, but intelligence, height, weight, the size of your nose, blah blah blah, aren't absolutes, they fall into continuous normal distributions.
Woo, I said I wouldn't explain but I guess I ended up attempting to. This whole thing would be a lot easier if y'all had a understanding of statistics, which would help you understand how variability works - its not an off and on switch.

Ummm, if you were to look at the heights of people in different countries, members of each "race" are mixed in their heights. Listen, you are wrong, I am right. If you want to argue with the people that analyzed the human genome and reported the facts, then you are a fool.
I am sorry, but biology makes more sense than your racist belief system.
You
Are
Wrong.
Your little PBS link supported what I have said - that between groups of different ancestry (races) there are differences that can't be accounted for by just standard variation.
And I've heard nothing that says that the human genome runs counter to the idea that some groups of different ancestry (race) are more likely to have certain traits than others.
You can think whatever you want to and I don't have a problem with it, until you come here and try to convince other people that bull$%^& has merit to it.

I don't get it, Mediator. Are you trying to justify your racism, and feelings that certain races should die faster, because of height differences and skin color differences?
That is so yesterday... like.. 1945 german.
Yup. I said that.
Wow you're %^&*ing brilliant.
I think we're done, you understand that two characteristics, like skin color and whether or not you're likely to have a specific disease, can be more likely to be carried together, but at the same time you seem to deny its possibility, so we're done.

You all realize that any and ALL living things on this planet exist for one reason only, and that is to live. The planet itself is a rock in space that got lucky to have life on it. People are not arguing to save our planet we are arguing to preserve the ecosystem for our future generations
(felt like throwing that out there :P)
