as it stands currently, it's 200% mana increase per stack..
just like i said, it goes 200% of what the previous mana cost was. currently arcane blast with no stacks is 7% of base mana cost. one stack on it will make it 14% of base mana. two stacks will make it 28%. three stacks will make it cost 56% of base mana.
and i wasn't telling you to go arcane. i wouldn't suggest you do something you don't like at all. :)

In that case, blizz needs to rewrite the tooltip. That's a 100% increase, not a 200% increase.
yeah.. it is kind of bizarre.
i hadn't thought much about it but when you multiply something times 100%, you're multiplying it by 1.00.. and of course any number x 1 = that number.
i dunno.. maybe my math was wrong, i'll have to go live and look at how it is now. lol
edit: okay.. so it appears that I am wrong.
on my mage, arcane blast with 0 stacks costs 215 mana.
215 mana > 645 > 1075 > 1505
so it appears it is a 200% increase from the first stack, then that same amount every time per stack afterwords (in my case, add 430 each time)
so it looks like after the new patch it'll be (in my case anyway)
215 > 494.5 > 774 > 1053.5 > 1333
that's still a pretty significant drop in mana even though it's not as significant as i first though. casting another ABl with 4 stacks in the new patch will cost less than casting it with 3 in the the current live servers. Hooray for arcane.

If you read the tooltip you will notice it's a 200% over
base mana cost

I wonder if Arcane will be more viable for PvP with these changes?
i would certainly think so.. increased (mana free) MBAM procs.. more damage stacks.. much less mana consumptive..
i think a lot of people are gonna be rolling arcane for a while after this goes live. pve AND pvp.
like i said earlier though.. i hate being called a sheep.. bleh

I leveled arcane i raid arcane and yesterday i tried fire again (did more damage but it feelss soooo slloooooww)
I'm so glad they buff arcane and hope this will go live or atleast the 4 stacks and maybe a 50% mana reduction on Mbarr procs if it tends to be OP in blizz eye's (mana consumption wise)
3.2.2 allows me to raid in my favo spec without gimping damage done to much. Fire might still be having higher damage done in raids due to living bomb being casted on multiple targets (coliseum Gormec +adds / both worms / jaxx + add's / fraction champions), and movement fights due to Dot's damage. But arcane gets closer to fire now on the damage done charts.
Can't wait to see how the buff turns out to be when it hits live.

I think you misread the tooltip... or it may be a bit misleading... but cast AB in the game and you'll see how it really works.
Arcane Blast is 7% of base mana (223 mana). The increase in mana cost is a stacking additive x% mana cost. On each stack, that x% is
added
to the previous mana cost.
Live:
No stack: 223 mana (100%)
1 stack: 669 mana (300% of original)
2 stack: 1115 mana (500% of original)
3 stack: 1561 mana (700% of original)
(446 additional mana cost per stack - 200% of 223)
PTR:
No stack: 223 mana (100%)
1 stack: 513 mana (230% of original)
2 stack: 803 mana (360% of original)
3 stack: 1093 mana (490% of original)
4 stack: 1383 mana (620% of original)
(290 additional mana cost per stack - 130% of 223)
yeah i just misunderstood the tooltip.. if you look at a later post, i correct my math :)
