You can skip the entire side of WoW that has to do with PVP and you're not missing anything.
You are missing out on the true challenging and competitive aspect of the game. If all you want is free epics and carebear pats on the back, keep on truckin.
You honestly think that PVP is end all be all of WoW, and PVE is about free epics and carebear pats on the back? Oh you poor, uninformed, fool.
*Edited out explanation as it's a waste of time to those with tunnel vision*

A good statement with a valid point.
Those who claim that every PvP game is different are only correct to a certain extent. Players are basically statemachines. When they use ability A. counter with ability B. And as you said. If it's flexible. Then go ahead. Try PvP without any CC, or interrupts perhaps....heals! ...or stuns! Clearly they are not necessary. You can be VERY flexible in PvP!
I'm not saying that PvE is much better.
instead of being:
Omg! It's Class X! do a.b.c!
It's:
Boss X! Do a.b.c.d!
Also, gear makes the difference in WoW. Even in PvP. A full deadly geared person will have no troubles defeating one in blues. and if they are equally geared (And "skilled") It becomes an RNG fight. Who will get the lucky, crit-streak.
