You can do the same thing with sand.

I dont think so, I've spent the last 10-15 years being appauled by the actions of man kind, and by the time this life ends I'll have had more than enough.

I took a class on 'the human lifespan'. People normally grow to accept and even anticipate death. The thought of living forever sounds really unappealing to people who have been around for a long time. Kids, however, see it differently. This is natural. I am not at all surprised that since most people here are young, that most are opting for immortality. It isn't really a well thought out position.
What if you are immortal and get trapped in a mine during an avalanche, with your body completely pinned and encased in rock? You'd be trapped under a mountain, in the same spot, for possibly millions of years.
There are limitless 'what ifs' that no one is really considering. Even if it were possible, 10 seconds of rational thought would lead you to opt out.
What about after the world ends... the universe.... etc.... floating adrift for eturnity through emptiness.... no thanks.

Yes, I thought along the same lines, however, the position I'm imposing would be immortality only surpassing the aging process.

and back to the topic about opposing elements its true that sand can put out a flame but you need more sand than theres fire to put it out.
fire
wind earth
water
fire and water is oposing
wind and earth is oposing
its possible to mix earth with water(mud), fire with earth(lava), wind and water(ice) and wind and fire(lightning and a even hotter flame)
wind can put out a flame so long its strong enough same is with earth too but water is the only element that has no real restriction on how much is needed to %^&*er react the opposing element

How do you even quantify fire in the fire place?
its possible to mix earth with water(mud), fire with earth(lava), wind and water(ice) and wind and fire(lightning and a even hotter flame)
Water and fire = steam
Earth and wind = sandstorm
wind can put out a flame so long its strong enough same is with earth too but water is the only element that has no real restriction on how much is needed to %^&*er react the opposing element
That's funny because wind is the movement of air particles, and fire is a thermal and luminous radiation.
Where as earth and water are actual matter.
