Do pets learn new spec ability ranks?

Wondering if when your pet levels does it learn its special abilities even if you did not get them when you tamed it? for example if i were to tame a spider that had rank 2 bite and no web ability would it gain ranks in bite and get web later on? or would i have to scout all over to find pets with higher ranks like before wotlk?

They learn their new skills and skill ranks at the appropriate levels automatically, except for talent points obviously, which you would have to assign manually.

One of the pet changes I was most excited to learn about, since going to tame that one particular named pet in your level range so you don't have to wait 6 levels for the next animal to be tamable...well that was just annoying.
