I'm 29, and started playing world of warcraft about 2 years ago.
Judging from my current addiction to the game there are no indication that I will stop playing anytime soon.

17 years, and i rly dunno.
Hit 80 a few days ago and i don't really know what im gonna do now, i do quest though to earn money for mounts and yeah.
How long i will play? Till i earned most achievements that i can earn aswell as having good heroic gear.
THe thing is i srsly doubt im gonna raid and stuff liek that, and i dont enjoy PvP in Arena. And as far as i know the best PvP gear is earned by Arena......
Also AV aint fun anymore -.- i srsly enjoyed those forever-lasting BG's
It seems to me that end-level content was much more fun in pre-TBC than in WOtLK also i really cant stand the new PvP gear. Hope they make a WoW classic realm.

I'm 22.
I will stop playing WoW when Diablo 3 or blizz' unannounced game hits the shelves, given these new games are
fun
. Else I suppose I'd continue with WoW... But I really can't see how at least Diablo 3 can fail at being fun :)
I have been playing WoW since release.

I wouldn't be surprised if WoW outlived all of us.
There are web sites out there that will celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2011. Meridian 59, one of the earliest MMOs, launched in 1995 and will be celebrating their 15th anniversary next year. Warcraft I, released in 1994, still has a small community dedicated to playing online against each other.
I think a lot of people expecting MMORPGs to shut down after a decade or two are jumping the gun a little bit. There are websites and games that have been around since the internet came about that are still in operation now and will continue to be for years and years.
As time goes on, the costs for keeping WoW servers up will become more and more negligible. Maybe fifteen years from now, there won't be any more content added to the game besides occasional fixes. Maybe twenty-five years from now there will only be three or four servers. But WoW will live on. Ultima Online and Everquest are still seeing updates and even expansion packs, and they've been around for a decade or more.
