Could you please do readers of your guide a favor and reduce the use of abbreviations in it to the absolute minimum? (i.e. zero) I don't think there's any rush in writing it.
Or at least dechipher them first time they appear in the guide. (AC for example)

Sure, thats probably a good idea as this is just a primer for noobs.

You should write "zomgroflomgwtfbbqpwn" in the thread title just to add some abbreviations for the ones removed.

Great guide! Could you also maybe put some hard returns in the macros so that the first page doesn't stretch so much? My limited resolution would thank you. :(
What one is doing that for you? On my screen they are all uniform to the standard width of the wowhead forums.

Code boxes perhaps?
But they do that for everyone.

I'm at 1440x960 and not seeing any problems.
Not sure if quest edited them to be quote boxes and not code boxes, but quote boxes always "hard return" (in the lack of a better term).

I think the first one is the longest, but the other two would still stretch the screen. Of course, I'm working with 1280x1024, so it isn't enormous by today's standards.
I changed the first one to a quote box instead of a code one just now. I also changed my rez down to 1280x1024 and it looks uniform. Using Firefox 3.5.

I took 5/5 Divinity because I'm pugging heroics, and frequently have a less than optimal (aka crappy) healer. On some bosses, I need all the healing I can get.
Ardent Defender is maxxed for the same reason, and I went with 2/2 in SA because I may need a panic button, and mana to power it.
If I do end up doing the gquit thing and get into a decent raiding guild, I'll probably respec into something a little higher in the TPS.
Pop more cooldowns. Divine Protection, mitigation/avoidance trinkets, keep HS up at all cost. Don't just stand there like targetting dummy, calling for blows.

An item is just a piece of gear. Chest etc. Value is what stats are on it. Different stats are worth a certain amount when you want to do different things by theorycrafters in the community, so they are given values, so when you look at some gear, and see it has 20 strength, you look up its value, say for threat per second to hold aggro as a Paladin, and other stats that do that well too like expertise and +hit and their values too. So maybe 1 Strength is worth 30 points and 1 exp is worth 20 points.
If we didnt have a value for different things like that people wouldn't know that 20 strength is better then 20 spirit because they both say 20 when the itemization value of strength is much much greater for a tank paladin.
--
In the basic since though, itemization value is a formula Blizzard uses to keep gear somewhat balances around a certain number level. The new Heroic instances drop gear with a level if 232. That means every piece of gear has 232 item levels to work with. So when they put Armor on the gear, that takes up some item level, then they put other stats on the gear, those take up item level, and when they get to 232, they stop putting stats on the gear. There is a multiplier on levels of gear, Green->Blue->Purple. This is why a level 200 green is going to have much less stats than a level 200 purple.
