Heh, you can tell that the realms are starting to come up and stay up... the forums here and just about every WoW related site have been crawling all day, and since the realms have started coming up they are much faster... 8)

I have a idea for Blizzard.....
Make sure a patch wont cause problems before instigating it.
TEST a patch to make sure is wont cause problems before instigating it.
Delay a patch, EVEN IF you promised it today, to make sure it wont cause problems by instigating it.
silly Blizzard.
I agree! Blizzard NEEDS TO LEARN FROM PAST MISTAKES!
3.0 was horrible! Northrend freaking CRASHED twice on our server.
For a while, CHAT even crashed. No guild chat, no general chat, no trade. Nothing.
Lag was horrible, with many many many times where I am running around and nothing else is moving, so now I know that I have been disconnected, but give it 5 min before I actually drop.
Addons were not anticipating this release so quickly and for a while I needed to use the default UI which was annoying.
Our server restarted a grand total of 14 times before finally reaching stability 3 days LATER.
Blizzard, I know a lot of stuff needs to happen on Patch day, but try to combat this horrible anticipation of Patch day. I do not know what happens on your end, maybe you have cleared a lot of things up, and once every server is up, maybe you did fix a lot of issues from before, but right now it is 5:36 Eastern time, and I do not assume servers will be playable until 8:00 my time. You did promise that servers will be up by 4:00 my time...
Maybe try to start server updates wayyyyy earlier (yes you might end some late night raids, but the next day servers will be up by 12) OR! Test the patch on a server populated by thousands of "dummy" Characters equal to a regular server.
Come on blizzard, lets get it together. You guys are known to be very crafty and great customer satisfaction.
/end flaming
Okay, I will agree with this.
I hate the people who post thread after thread complaining about how much they hate tuesdays/patch days and how they'd get rid of them if they had the chance. We all know that without the work Blizzard puts in every tuesday World of Wacraft would be filled with bugs, flaws, and it certianly wouldn't be a game worth playing.
Without patches/new content, people would get bored with the game and eventually begin complaining about how Blizzard needs to add more content. People just aren't satisfied and they don't realize how much Blizzard actually does for us. Although, I do believe fifteen dollars a month is a bit high. X-Box live is only around five dollars and it supports more than just one game. I also feel that they often make things too pricey on the game. 1,000G for duel speccing? Come on, it's supposed to save us gold and time. It's going to take time for me to farm 1,000G due to the fact i'm not one to go out and spend even more of my paycheck on things for WoW such as a gold making guide.
To the point.
I don't really know what goes on behind the scenes of WoW or how Blizzard tests the patches themselves, but I do believe they should of found a way to test the patch as much as possible before they made it go live. I realize that new errors occur once it does go live, but still, there has to be something they could of done to at least avoid some of the time loss.
Maybe not though, I have no idea, i'm just throwing out some thoughts.
Some people, (like me for instance) tuesday is your main WoW day (most of my friends have work, i don't work today and only have one 30 min college class, so today is a perfect WoW day) so when the entire day is spent with the realms down, sometimes it sucks, other times it offers me a good chance to get my exercise in for the week and go out and play some basketball in my free time.
Oh well, Blizz is one of my favorite gaming companies and I support them 100%, unlike most people.
Lemme put it this way. They can't know for sure how it's going to be on the live environment. They can stabilise it on the PTR but the PTR has very few people in comparison to a live realm. Unfortunately with something this big, you kinda *have* to tweak it a bit later to readjust it to new numbers.
