True.So true.I started playing with my boyfriend's char.I decided to buy an account and that's all.But I dont think I would do it if my boyfriend didn't.I used to think it is a bad addictive habit.Actually I'm having a lot of fun and I am very impressed by the Blizzard work on the game. It's great.

I can imagine a number of mothers having the account or buying cards for their children.(Not that i'm trying to minimize it, actually i'd think the fathers would be the ones doing that most, but i'm wondering)This Momma bought my grown son's game for he and his wife, my teenage daughter's game AND my soon to be Hubbies. :O) I own/pay for all accounts except my son's as well....ok, soon to be Hubby helps pay too. :O)~
Girls have gamed for a long time. More girls game now, because they don't have to try to play while trying not to get creeped out by being leered at over the DM's screen by some 32 year old guy still living at home with Mom, and wearing some smelly costume bits he picked up from the last gaming convention.Amen!

Speaking purely from an MMOG perspective, there are plenty of female gamers. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of female gamers period. From my initial MMOG experience playing Ultima Online some of my best buds were women. Not only that but they were the best players. I can think of three big cases in point for female MMOGers. First would be UO, where one of the co-GMs of my guild was a woman, who was a very creative and dedicated player. From organizing RP events to raiding any PvP, she could and did do it all.Secondly was a raiding guild I was in in Earth & Beyond (RIP). The GM was a woman, and ran a very tight ship. It was probably the best run, largest and successful guild I've been in in any MMOG. She was a very capable organizer and motivator, and really knew all the ins and outs of the gameplay. Lastly was the corporation I was in in EVE Online. It was a large 0.0 corp that was part of one of the largest alliances in the game at the time. Some of the best PvPers were women and one in particular ran the industrial arm of the alliance and spent countless hours in the game. The PvP wing that one of the women in the alliance was the leader for consistently had the best kill ratio and damage done in the alliance. In WoW I have had the pleasure of playing the game with some very cool women in the guilds I've been in. I can almost always count on them to be good, knowledgeable players, and fun to hang out with. So in my opinion not only are there plenty of female gamers, but they're damned good at it too. 8)
