Recount doesn't track overheal from HoTs.
GHeal has served me well in 5mans, mostly when I don't want to waste my Penance cooldown on a dps and I have Inner Focus off cooldown for a free heal. If it's free, it might as well be a big one.
There. While I'm not invalidating that Renew is a good choice, I poked holes in both your argument in less than half the text.
I'd probably say more, but I tire of this banter.
by the way: TL:DR

Thanks for summing it up. My thoughts exactly. I'm mostly just trolling them by this point.

thats because if a target is at 100% the HoT doesn't trigger. Hot's don't overheal.
there is no argument of flash vrs greater.
Unfortunatly there is. and its been going forever and will probably stay around forever.
As of now rapture and DA supports Gheal. blizzard intended a disc to make use of the spell or it wouldnt have been included.
If your on about the present (3.0) then your wrong as overheal is not rewarded by rapture or DA. Come 3.1, It would be nice as DA is counted with overheal, but no mana returns.
blizzard intended a disc to make use of the spell or it wouldnt have been included.
erm, Greater heal has been around for....ever?
I tire of this argument. Use whatever the hell you want. If you think its imba to use Flash heal then use it. If you think its imba to use Greater heal, use it. God, if you think the situation calls for it then use rank 1 lesser heal for all i care. HPS means ^&*! all if your tank survives and you down a boss.Gief l00tz

You still spent mana on it and aren't getting it back. Isn't that the whole point of why overheal = bad?
I'm still just trolling at this point. All has been said and done by now and there really isn't more that can be contributed.

tis the troll
I always find it funny how the same post pop up over and over again and people argue the same argument and others say the exact same thing over again.
I will say as a holy priest raider I just don't have time to cast Gheal b4 other classes make it a 100% overheal, I am so looking forward to the new talent changes that will lower the cast time by 36% woot!
so what are the other posts that always seem to pop up hmmm?
lets list them all
lets start with:
Gheal vs Fheal, and all variations of that topic
What is hit cap for a Spriest
Cookie Cutter of X spec
all I got list more

It's still pretty funny to watch. Though I must admit I don't know how one goes about getting a thread locked here without reporting it and putting someone's account on the line.
I had my fun and got everything I needed I know out of this thread days ago.

I don't know. Watching both sides scream the same thing in different ways is just retarded. If using Greater Heal simply requires meeting a specific situation
and that situation never pops up for a number of people
, doesn't that answer the question in the first place?
