For 74-77 you say that you should grind at the Argent Stand. Can you suggest an alternative spot?
The only one i think could be a possible location would be under Voltarus, not directly under but around the plateu there. I think all of the mobs there are melee and if i'm not mistaken they're packed tightly together and quite numerous. I'm pretty short on northrend locations atm and will try to scout some.

I've changed the title to be more explanatory of the content (if a moderator reads this please update the read before posting sticky).
Also added new locations for the following level ranges.
36-38
(It's puny now but i'll edit this and keep adding locations since i've decided to scout some after the raid this evening).
Edit:
I apologise for not adding more locations, but the raid that night ended in disaster with 2 members being kicked (f'ing pricks) and an officer leaving the guild.
And yesterday i was just simply very tired. Today i'm going to a birthday party but i might add some locations after that!

I need help here. I'm on a lvl 30 and killing the Yeti's in Hillsbrad. But just taking 4 causes problems. They aren't seem to loose any life at all. When taking 4 should only take 4 seconds as you say in the start of the guide, it takes more like a minute. And most of the time I just die.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I use ret aura, SoL, JoL, BoSanc and RF and all that, but my hp bar is still dropping really fast. I'm also often really low on mana.
Could somebody tell me what Im doing wrong? Because so far respeccing to prot has only been a really negative experience.
Sorry for my bad english btw.
It's definately not going to take 4 seconds, try 40 seconds.
What's your gear like? How much HP do you have? Are you keeping all the mobs infront of you? Are you using a sword and board?
Up to level 40 AoE grinding as prot aint easy. You have really low avoidance and block thus you gain little mana from BoSanc.
And you dont get any real avoidance or block through gear until you hit outlands.
With average quest gear you should definately be able to handle 4 yetis at level 30.

The "science" behind this is that you'll kill X number of mobs as fast (if not faster) as <X number of mobs.
(if you're not that into math it translates to: kill X(a certain amount lets say 10 for now) number of mobs as fast (if not faster) as <X(less than 10 (the previously stated amount)) number of mobs
Did I misunderstand that then? ^
Simply put, yes. ;p
What it sais is that you'll kill mobs faster when AoEing than you do when just killing them one by one. Since you're dealing damage to a large amount of mobs simultaneously instead of doing that damage to one mob. Ofcourse you'll always kill one mob faster but the time it takes you to kill say 10 mobs one by one you would've killed those 10 mobs faster if you killed them all at the same time. You might be doing less damage to each mob individually but you're doing damage to all of them.
About my gear, I'm not very geared yet. Missing both trinkets, neck and head. Also got 1-2 (can't remember) leather pieces. I have 1k hp. I got the blue sword that deals nature damage and the shield from last boss in Gnomeregan. And yes I try and keep the mobs in front of me ^^
You wont get any trinket worth mentioning until late 50s and neck and head usually shows up during mid 30s or early 40s.
Try not to wear anything but mail until you hit 40 when you switch to nothing but plate pieces. Armor is a very very significant amount of your mitigation.
1k HP sounds really low try to get as much stamina on your gear as possible. 'of the Monkey' pieces are great since they provide dodge, armor (through agility) and health (through stamina). Though this is only between 30-40 once you get to 40 you want pure stamina and some strength to keep your BV up.
Apart from all this, I thought that I've only had to grind, and not Q from level 30, a mistake on my part ^^ Or what do you recommend? Grinding my ass off or doing Q's? I like doingboth, but I just wonderingwhat you find easiest and fastest. Since I just want my paladin in 80 as fast as possible
It's very possible, though can prove extremely boring and dull.
But it's difficult in the start because you dont really have all the tools at your disposal yet (holy shield per example).
Though as i said it's very possible indeed.
And if you just want to get your paladin to 80 ASAP try out the different specs and stick to what you find the most enjoying, you'll never level as fast as when you're having fun.
Oh, and don't think I'm comming in just to mock you're guide. I think it's a great written guide and very informative, I'm just looking for a bit of help ^^
Even though i might seem very hostile at times, in this thread i've no intent on mocking, arguing or any of the like with anyone. If i would've suspected that i wouldn't have answered your post.

I rolled a Pally a little while ago, and so far I've gotten him up to 14. Quite frankly, he's boring as sin to play, and I doubt that I'll ever put any serious time in with him if I stick with Ret. What does look appealing to me is prot leveling, and I've been looking over information on that, particularly this thread.
It seems like the general consensus is that it's only worthwhile once you get to at least level 30. I'm wondering, would it be so bad to just start off into Prot now at 14, even knowing that I won't be getting the AoE tools I need until 30? Also, if I were to go with a Prot build, would grinding be the recommended course for leveling, or could I quest as well?

Paladins are extremely boring in the beginning you dont get your second offensive ability until 22 when you get Exorcism. Before that it's just auto attack and judgements. Though it will all get better, much better!

I've level'd 2 of my 4 paladins as prot from level 10. It's harder and slower than ret because you can't AoE yet, but it's really hard to die.
Grinding is definately going to be faster than questing (assuming you do it effectively). But it can also be extremly boring in the long run. I've yet to level a paladin solely through grinding. I usually end up using it as a filler between questing locations, so i dont start with orange/red quests when i start questing.
Though if you have the persistancy to constantly grind it'll definately be faster.

My sincere apologies for not updating this to 3.2 yet.
I've been plenty busy lately and barely have any spare time at all over.
This weekend i'm fully booked and next week i start studying so i'll try and update as soon as i get the time.
Once again i apologise for any inconvenience.

Here's a tiny vid I made of how to do this.
Small but you should get the idea. Didn't pull as many as I wanted to though.
Not a bad clip :) Thanks alot for that one!
I've been thinking of making some videos of my own for the guide but atm i havn't gotten the hardware to do so.
Looking forward to a hardware change around christmas though (i know it's like 4 months away >.<) so if anyone is still alive by then i'll probably expand this with a couple of videos.
P.S. I'm a real lazy bum and havn't added any new locations yet and even though it shames me i havn't proof read the guide for 3.2 >.<
My ambition is to be able to do this, this coming weekend. I will however not make any promises.
If you do find something that makes you go "hmm.. didn't they change that in 3.2?" feel free to say so which makes my job alot easier.

Finally got around to updating the guide to 3.2.
Updated talent builds to include Ardent Defender.
Proof read everything.
Not much else to say, 3.2 didnt change much for this guide.

EDIT: There seems to be a gap in locations for Horde to go from 33-36. I'll use the location's from
my sticky
/Dabyrie's Farmstead until I reach 36 and find a better place to go.

Good to hear that i can inspire so many people ;p
Hadn't noticed until you mentioned it that i'm missing a location there for horde.
Dabyrie's Farmstead might work, the mobs wont go green until lvl 34-35 but i'll make sure to try and find a location for that level range!

I'm 35 now, trying to get to 36 using the mobs from the location in Desolace. I used Northfold Manor, and used a few mobs in Boulder'gor while I waited for respawns. Now that I look back, Dabyrie would have been better, I was just discouraged by a green mob there.
While I'm here, if you've got a group of 80's to leech off while running through MC, pick up
Drillborer Disk
from Garr.
