Isn't the idea of evolution just natural selection on a bigger scale? Like a bigger window of time being looked at?
On a basic level, yes. But the entire concept of evolution also includes sexual selection (a sort of sub-concept of natural selection) and mutation.
Well first 3, I'm an American Christian (not going to be specific about denomination) and 16. Its my musings that in the "7 days" that God created the world that was shall we say... heaven time? As in it might have been 7 days up there but perhaps millions here. So I think that all this evolution stuff could have been going on but maybe kind of... guided? If that makes sense o.o Then again thats just my musings not a concrete "this is what I beleive" theory.
And who says the word in the bibles comes from God at all? Isn't it always funny that it's humans doing the talking?
I already know the answer. It's always the same chain. It's how God does things. And he does things the way he does because he wants your faith.
But how can an omnipotent God ask of mankind to simply trust word of another of his kin ("prophet" or not) without a shred of evidence or any basic indication it might be right?

Mah reading this thread is giving me a headache @.@ Lemme ask these one by one.

And a quick question, hope this wasn't answered earlier in thread I didn't read page 3 and 4 o.o Isn't the idea of evolution just natural selection on a bigger scale? Like a bigger window of time being looked at?
I agree 100% with your musings :)

Why do you assume that all religion means the bible :D? I disagree with the bible on many counts.

This conversation is taking a religeous turn. Let me expalin how I see it...
God created the earth in 7 days, during which He created Adam and Eve. He created them as matured beings, not pre-birth stages. He made them able to breath on thier own, walk, talk, digest food, etc. Since they were never 'born' and did not have time to develop in the womb, He would have had to create them already able to cope with the world around them.
So, if someone were able to walk up to Adam, 5 minutes after he was created, that person might say, "There is a middle aged man". I'm not saying I difinitively know the apparant age at which Adam was created, but it makes sense that he was well beyond the 'fertalized egg' stage. Anyway, the person who made the observation would be incorrectly infering Adam's age by observations that person could make about him, such as height, hair length, skin consistency, etc. Adam, in fact, would only be 5 minutes old.
The same could be said about the universe. God would create the universe, and the world, "pre-aged" to the perfect conditions to support Adam, Eve, and thier offspring. Someone could look at the universe and say "Its 4.5 billion years old, and I can scientifically prove it", just as one could 'prove' that Adam had not been created 5 minutes prior, even if he had.
This is how I reconcile my beliefs with scientifically factual errors.

All major religions follow some version of it.

All major religions usually agree with the bible on things like: its bad to kill people and steal and good to help the poor and anyone else who needs help, but disagree on a
lot
of other things.

How is that scientifically factual? How is that anything but nonsense?

You're just going off in random directions now. All major religions have one thing in common: a centrally composed word of god (the bible) which it expects you to believe with no proof.
Now I ask again,
And who says the word in the bibles comes from God at all? Isn't it always funny that it's humans doing the talking?

No neffi, we don't all worship the same god, some would say that god is jesus, while others would say that jesus was just a prophet who was a messenger to God. What I am trying to say is, don't judge all major religions based on the bible, because I can tell you the differences if you want.

Neffi, my theory is just as solid as yours. Like you said, you don't have to see evidence, it's just there.

Trust me, I won't say things like "just because it is" or " god just wanted it that way". Ask me, and you will get logical reasons (as much as I can)...

Not what I said. Not even remotely what I said.

Really? 'Cause all I've seen is your dodging questions left and right.

religious argumentation ... .... suprisingly creates more flame.
this is surprising?
I enjoyed the off topic tangent into religion. I noticed no one actually provided any counter-arguement to my theory, except
How is that scientifically factual? How is that anything but nonsense?
Which made me lol. If someone wouldn't mind actually analyzing what I said and providing constructive feedback, I'd appreciate it.

I did. You made a claim that you were being scientifically accurate, but nothing you said has any base in the realm of science, so I asked you to justify your claims. You refused to.
