Well...Guess holy priests lost a bit more uniqueness. :(
Disc and Shadow I can't comment on...I don't know from this if they are nerfing or buffing us. I'm confused.com ... Thanks Blizz.
Seriously though, may I ask where the idea of "Regen is OP since replenishment and intellect chages...lets nerf (OO5SR Regen, but mainly) Spirit!" Came from...but I still don't quite understand what they are thinking? :S
Bah any help to un-confuse me would be nice. :)

its going to be extremely interesting to see how a discipline priest compares to a holy paladin now. We have essentially got their healing numbers with a hell of a lot of mitigation.
A holy pirest will still have use from spirit, as it counts as regen and gives spellpower, however the mechanics have changed. spirit stacking will still be viable, so don't go panicking
Edit: We finally have a glyph of penance avaliable to us. Reduces the CD by 2 Seconds

Everyone gets Divine Spirit now, so there isn't much reason to go deep in Discipline if you want a good healing spec. The whole tree is looking watered down anyway, relying on all kinds of tricks instead of having a theme. Basically, you're betting everything on a spell that can only be used every 11 seconds.
I don't think you understand the point of the Discipline tree. It's still completely different than holy. There are guilds who won't go into certain 25 man boss fight like Malygos without a Disc priest simply because the mitigation is too great to pass up on. Disco and Holy are still very separate healing styles.

I don't think anybody is panicking about spirit overall, it's just our 5SR mana regen escape that we've now lost. It's fine that we still get SP and casting MP5 out of it. Actually no changes to spirit will be made, just the constant in the equation that calculates our out of casting MP5.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, i don't want my priest to do about 3500 dps with thaddius buff when all other classes break 8-9k!
Anyways, i really hope they stop this. Homogenizing this far is stupid; next thing is paladin HoTs? Priests' uniqueness is now much less than what it was before. The only tree i see that priests actually have that no one else does is Discipline... which suffered a nasty break with the new Crapture (copyright osuracnaes). And the lack of PW:B...
By the way, didn't they talk about something like "Giving Holy PvP utility"? huh............ i might be a bit blind but i see nothing... unless you count only the Renew change to make it heal even if dispelled... /sigh
Overall, this changes are nothing to be very excited at (maybe the new PI animation and DP icon!). no gamebreaking changes, this feels to me more like a normal patch than a content patch. Hopefully, this will change (I believe it will).

We don't know enough about what will happen with it just yet. There are some changes to the renew spell as well, where you get an immediate heal as well as a HOT. Sounds basically like a reverse Lifebloom. If this is the case, the crit will likely be on that one punch heal, rather than each of the ticks. But we still don't know yet... Time to play the waiting game...
edit: the Empowered Renew is a holy talent, so it's not clear whether or not Discipline priests will have access to it yet either.

Just to clear something up with rapture for the Disc priests. At Maximum rank (3/3) the tooltip reads
When your Power Word: Shield is completely absorbed or dispelled you are instantly energized with 2.5% maximum mana, and you have a 100% chance to energize your target with 2% total Mana, 8 rage, 16 energy or 32 Runic Power.
I honestly don't think this is going to be as bad as we had suspected. 2.5% of my maximum mana is 500. and thats pretty much the cost of the shield. Stacking Int will just be the same as before. so i don't think there is any real reason to worry.
I also think they will scrap the PW:B idea. it's just not needed.

Actually, Blues have been talking about making ticks of Renew crittable for a long time. It sounds very much to me like the talent says that any time it crits you have a chance. I suppose you could be right, but right now it doesn't sound like that to me. We shall see when they describe it more.
Still, however it works I'm happy that Renew has gotten a buff.
ps- Empowered Renew is about tier 6 holy, so I doubt Disc priests will have access to it.

With Soul Barrier being in the place of Divine Spirit, I'm wondering if there will be any hybrid builds that arise out of this. Should be interesting to see, considering it reduces the cost of PW:S and the CD is removed! That would be incredible for some fights.

Holy crap....A PW:S that can be cast as fast as your GCD allows?
Based on a 1.5sec GCD, this is like 3-4 PW:S in the same span of time (if Borrowed Time effects your GCD....not sure).
This is 3-4X the output on PW:S, and at a decreased cost!
Divine Aegis - Divine Aegis effects will now stack, however the amount absorbed cannot exceed 125*level (of the target).
Divine Aegis that stacks up to10,000. There is no way I could complain.
Grace: Duration increased to 15 seconds, but now is only limited to one target.
It's nice that it's easier to keep up...However how will this be handled?
If I heal another party member, will it remove it from the tank and apply it to someone else?
Also, this removes the ability of a Disc priest to keep up grace on multiple targets.
This looks like major trouble to me.
Glyph of Penance *new* -- Reduces the cooldown of Penance by 2 sec.

Rapture (Tier 8 ) revamped. Now a 3 point talent. When your Power Word: Shield is completely absorbed or dispelled you are instantly energized with 1.5/2.0/2.5% of your total mana, and you have a 33/66/100% chance to energize your shielded target with 2% total mana, 8 rage, 16 energy or 32 runic power.
This effect cannot occur once every 12 seconds.
Since the 12 second limiter applies ONLY to the 2% total mana, 8 rage, 16 energy or 32 runic power given to other targets.
For comparison:
With a 20k mana pool, a FULLY EFFECTIVE penance would give somewhere around 440 mana. Given a 2sec cast, this is ~ 1100 MP5.
A fully effective Flash Heal would give ~190 mana. Given a 1.5sec cast, this is ~633 MP5
A fully absorbed PW:S will return 500 mana based on a 20k mana pool. Given a 1.5sec GCD, this is ~1666MP5. This is a bit harder in some instances because it will only be returned if the shield if fully used, but for other cases, such as spamming shileds before a vortex...you will actually recieve a HUGE series of mana gains.
HOWEVER
, PW:S is now our primary spell (next to penance). It's cost has been reduced by 30% to compensate, so it's really not that big of a deal. Penance is already dirt cheap, and Flash Heal is getting its cost reduced further.
*New Talent* Improved Flash Heal, Tier 7, 3 point talent - Reduces the mana cost of your Flash Heal by 5/10/15%, and increases the critical effect chance of your Flash Heal by 4/7/10% on friendly targets at or below 50% health.
The reduced cost will help Disc in its mana longevity.
The crit is pretty damn nice as well (understatement).
Meditation (Tier 3) now increases mana regeneration by 17/33/50%. (Previously 10/20/30%)
This should help with regen a little bit....or not considering the new mana regen model.
Focused Will (Tier 7) now increases spell critical strike chance by 1/2/3% in addition to its previous effect.
Although we have gained 4 extra talent points now that enlightenment and rapture are 3 points talents (down from 5).
This will be taken by Improved Flash Heal (3 point talent) and Soul Warding (1 point)
It's still a little too PvP-y to be taken for PvE IMO.
edit: I forgot we gained 1 point from Divine Spirit, so it's possible to put 1 point into it.
Power Infusion: This effect now has a new spell effect and sound.
Kinda curious about this. Anyone able to see what it does?

Borrowed Time doesn't affect GCD unless they change it in 3.1
While I love most of the changes, Crapture sucks just for that every 12 second BS. It's like, we get fast Shields, yay, but we can't get any significant mana returns for them.
Save for the fear of going OOM, the rest seems okay. I'm kinda $%^&ed off there's no PW: Barrier, but really fast and cheap shields are nice too and a bit easier to control. Then again, Weaked Soul will make the fast shields irrelevant for the main tank, so whatever.
Edit:
Forgot to rant about Grace only staying on one target. This is forcing Discipline to only actually heal the main tank and only shield everyone else, harshly nerfing them for 5-mans.
