Rapture was what made Disc unique. We sacrifice
tons
of throughput and raid utility for our godly longevity. If you take that away... who are we?
I certainly hope not what Discipline used to be: That 3rd talent tree that existed simply because they needed a third talent tree.
I'm guessing that they'll be checking these things in the PTR, but I certainly hope they aren't actually trying to give Discipline the same longevity as any other healer.

Ghostcrawler has stated that they build every raid encounter assuming Replenishment is in the party. This is why they are giving it to more and more classes. But, yes, making it a focal point and stripping healers because of it is silly.

One of the major boons of being a healer was the crazy regen to be had over dps. Now, it's nice that we could put together more team effort, but when they specifically said that they were expecting Replenishment in every raid, I cringed.
I wasn't thrilled with it when I first saw it and I just hate it a little more each time I see that you can go anywhere without it.

In my opinion, for a healer to depend on dps-ers for mana regen is not a team effort, that's just stupid game design. When it's gone so far they actually need to nerf every mana regen ability the healers have for themselves Blizz should wake up and see that Replenishment was not a good idea after all and take it out of the game.
I agree and I also think that the changes to Serendipity are a bit silly, TBH. They have eliminated an enormous way to utilize the 5SR. That's a huge part of what we are as priests. These changes aren't simply a bunch of small changes, they reflect a re-design of the way that we, as holy priests, are supposed to heal!
I feel like we're all paladins now, just flinging heals around without needing to worry about our blue reserves. How implicitly boring! Escaping the 5SR was a big part of my fun and seeing how much mana I could reap from it.
Re: spirit changes and Meditation 17/33/50% (Previously 10/20/30%), I think we can expect to actually get MORE out of our spirit within the 5SR over the long run with this actually. Mathematically, I think it will work out to increase our casting MP5, as we get more and more spirit reserves, that is. Unless, they change the formula for out of casting mana regeneration to apply diminishing returns... I'd hate to be the one to try and balance this equation. ;-)

They are nerfing OOFSR regen while keeping the in-combat regen the same -- the result is a reworked coefficient on Meditation, but also some edited game mechanics. Their goal is to make it inefficient to dodge FSR when reliant upon regen, because they apparently are seeing it as counter-productive to the healing gameplay model.

Remember this is the PTR. things can and probably will change. I like the changes to the disc tree in general. and now PW:S costs less and givs more than just mitigation. its a nice change. holy just looks awful tho. we shall see how it pans out.
btw, looks like all our moaning about Divine Aegis not stacking paid off :D w00t w00t
