Isn't one of Skithus' parents or grandparents hostile to everything? I think traditional may be better to appease them for the day.
Well, as traditional as you can get next to a shark tank.
Then you can go to North Korea for your honeymoon, to shove it in their face!

Did you watch that documentary on North Korea I dropped in News Articles? It was top notch.

I don't think that grandparent is invited, actually. I'm thinking more about his mom. He's the only child, so helping me plan is as close as she's going to get to being the mother of the bride. She is having a lot of fun with all of the traditional wedding stuff, and I don't think stuff like
this
is quite what she had envisioned.
Even though I think it's pretty cool.

Good Morning.
Damn, I've been away for too long from the bin.
Too much SWTOR :P
Hey Elhonna, for what its worth, that purple dress looks lovely :P
And Milayu, how do you call that second piece of clothing? the one that wasn't a hoodie? It reminds me of the clothing people used on the movie "The Fifth Element"

The technical term would be a "shrug."

ack............damn.
That is a shame. If he's the only son, then I can totally see where she's coming from.
My mom never had any daughters, and my little brother never got married (and given his orientation, he never will, given that gay people can't get married here) so my wedding was her one chance to actually do all that girly stuff of planing a wedding, choosing the bride's dress and all of that stuff.
Between Her, Reina, and Reina's Mom, all 3 of them planned every single detail xD we guys didnt' had a single saying into anything at all (well, I did managed to get away with 1 teeny tiny thing, I was able to include chocolate muffins on the buffet =D so that's a victory)
Humm, having considered that detail then maybe out of respect for her you should go with the white dress.

What's funny is now that we're engaged, my whole family keeps asking about kids. How many, how soon, etc. We've told people that we're not having them, and no one seems to believe me. "But you love kids! You're so good with kids!"
I love ponies, and I'm very good with difficult customers, but I don't feel the need to have any of either to call my very own- lol.
I think at this point my family is just praying for my birth control to fail.

¬.¬ I know rite? so annoying when they do that.
During my first 20 years, on every single family reunion it was "hey david, got a girlfriend yet?" or "Hey, how's it going with the girlfriend hunting?" or "Come on David, your parents want some grandchildren".
Then I get a girlfriend, and did I got some peace? nope, it just changed to "Hey, when is hte first kid coming along?" or "do you plan to have triplets?" or "hey, gotta make up for all the lost time, have at least 4 will ya?" or the most irritatiing of them all "Come on david, you 2 wont be young forever, get busy already"
We've told people that we're not having them, and no one seems to believe me.
o_O really? never? I mean, its one thing to take your time, and maybe have them several years after the marriage, but never ever ever?
I think at this point my family is just praying for my birth control to fail.
Lol xD now that is just mean :P
Having a PLANNED baby = Greatest Joy in all the land. When Reina told me she was pregnant, I ran around the neighborhood yelling I'M GONNA BE A DAD! for about 10 minutes xD.
Having an UNPLANNED baby =
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

My girlfriend's mother asked me if we were having kids in the foreseeable future when I was over, once. She received an I'll-kill-you look from Julia and I received another one for joking (I'll emphasize the joking, here) about it - and coincidentally the mother is never home when I'm over anymore.
What is it with parents and their children having kids, exactly? I know my uncle used to say that having kids was special, but having grandchildren was equally if not more special. I'm wondering if there's some truth to that, lol.

I think they just miss having babies around.
Totally not related, but
this
is freaking hysterical.

Meh, I don't know. Yeah, it might be a nostalgia (?) thing - I don't really like babies that much - they might look adorable at times, but half ot the time they're either too noisy, too smelly or they're actually just plain ugly. My parents keep telling me how I got pissed off the first time I met my little brother and went all "Mommy, why is he so small? I have a present to the little brother, can we go to the playroom now?" - so it might've stuck around
^^
