As we all know, Prot is going to get some nice little buffs that will add to PvP viability in 3.1. I'm curious as to what you all think a decent Prot PvP build would look like, and what kind of gear you would wear for it? There are a LOT of variables with Pallies... do you go Prot-Ret and grab a lot of extra crit talents, or Prot-Holy to be more survivable? Do you stack STR and Block rating for harder melee/SotR hits, or wear Holy gear for high SP and a large mana pool? Or do you wear the Ret PvP gear for the strength and resilience bonuses?
So many possibilities... thoughts?

Heya,
I haven't reached lvl 80 myself yet, (78 atm). But I've got this feeling that a mixed (read as deep) prot build with some int (holy) gear will definitely be worth looking at.
First of all Prot is meant to withstand dmg, since players in pvp don't hit has hard as in PvE, you're focus isn't going to be that heavily on defensive stats.
On the other hand you will not have a healer at your disposal so the healing is here to help you.
To answer your question, or atleast my oppinion, is that a Prot-based build with some holy gear will make you king of survivability in BGs and World PvP.
PS. I can't help but linking old-skool vidz of Zalgradis.
Zalgradis Paladin PvP 3
The vid reminds of old days (patch 1.9) when resilience was only an idea and PvE gear was the only way. And of Old-skoolness Prot-mixed builds!
EDIT: I didn't answer your question what build to pick but it wasn't my intention to answer that question. I just wanted to bring back good memories and link ze movieh!
