Armorylite and 3DArmory both are using our script with credit, but without permission. We had intended to keep bandwidth costs down by not allowing other sites to use our modelviewer, but we failed at simple security checks. :P
Naturally the next stop is to politely ask the other sites to stop using our modelviewer in this way—but considering that the functionality is so cool, we're not doing anything like that until you can do the same thing on Wowhead. :)

Perhaps I wasn't clear—this is not a behavior we approve of. We've allowed it to continue because we haven't made it available here on Wowhead yet, but once that happens we'll be tweaking the system so it won't work anymore. We'd prefer you did your modelviewing here on Wowhead. :P

Well, then I suggest you what to do (another service on WowHead) :)
The idea is to allow the user to create custom builds, i.e. I want a blood elf with this and this and this item, or this NPC with this weapon, and let people link to this model (i.e. what's just happening with maps).

Is there a way to use the 3D viewer.
I was told it was enhanced by a team in Minnesota and the same code was used in Thottbott, wowhead and Allakhazam.
I would also like to contribute and add a 'save to...' functionality to it.

4 years later, did anything change here on the front of the 3D model viewer embedding ?
I'm asking because on our tiny guild phpBB forum, we would love to have a 3D model viewer working with BBCodes, to see items in 3D, to show our characters in our posts, etc. We already use tooltips to link items, and so our forum is 100% more awesome because of WoWHead. :D
But until now, I thought it was impossible to display the 3D model viewer on a forum. This thread somewhat makes me think that it could still happen.

8 years later, does an embeddable solution exist? :)(##RESPBREAK##)258##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##We do not intend to allow 3D models to be embedded anywhere. If management 12 years ago was considering it, that's no longer the case.
