1. Not worth it IMO, I like the frizzbee of doom effect.
2. ...I haven't even used cc yet... just realized this. No need really but yeah I wouldn't know, I supose it skips them.

Both AS and HoR definitely skip CC, I've seen happen many times.
Yay. Still...no need to use CC for a prot pally. I haven't found any pull so far where I've felt the need to yell "OMG SHEEP!"

There are a couple of pulls in Gundrak (in the cave by the pool) where CC does help. It's by no means mandatory but it does make it go a lot smoother.
I'll just take the hits...stamfood lol.

I was considering it for prot pvp myself to soften up a caster, nothing says WTF like a 6k slam in the face from a prot pally at 30 yards. Only time i could see it having some use tho or as a MT for threat (thinking maly here)

Single-target AS makes pulling trash packs too much of a PIA to be worth the added single-target threat (once every 30 seconds at that).
As for HotR and CC... I'm pretty sure I had mine hit a sheeped mob once or twice, but they might have changed it in 3.0.8
The glyph itself is a deadweight in it's current state. Could be much more useful if it had a different effect, like reducing the cooldown by N% and removing the snare effect or something.
