Greetings,
I did a respec to 53/11/7 after the patch. I enjoy BM, and I wanted to keep it. But seeing so many continously say for max dps go 1/19/51 I decided to at least try it out today. After firing about 1k arrows into a practice dummy Recount showed me around 1500-1700 dps. This is a decrease from my usual template of around 300dps on the low and top end. Admittedly, trap dancing is new to me, the shot rotation is a bit more complicated, my haste rating is low since I sold all that off grinding as a BM, and I have a long way to go on gear.
But does any of that result in a loss of dps for this new cookie cutter build? I wasn't expecting a loss, I was expecting a significant increase. Were my expectations too high? More practice? Change in gear?
I'm going to repec back into my recent BM for now but I'd be interested in seeing some replies. My armory is here:
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Antonidas&n=Kap%C3%BAIf you take the time to look, please note that I did switch out my AP gems for Agility gems of +16 for this test but I'll be putting AP gems back in by the time anyone sees this. Thank you for reading the wall 'o text.

the biggest problem for hunters when they switch, is nailing down a good shot flow. I use the word flow, because it really isn't a rotation, since it vaires because of procs and cooldowns.
the SINGLE biggest way to INCREASE your DPS when you make the switch is to get an addon like Poweraura (or some other product) that will make it OBVIOUS to you when LnL procs. This is key. Because when it does, your shots change. ES takes absolute priority. And keeping your SS up is a must also.
My DPS isn't stellar, and I am far from geared, but I can do more damage now that I did as BM. IO have been as high as 4.1K on a 25 man vault run, and kept getting whispers about it. On a lousy pug 5 man heroic, with a tank that can't hold aggro or major problems arise, my DPS may drop to 1700. ususally on a 5 man, it is 2200 or better.
I lead off with a MD to tank, an ES, an Aimed (to secure aggro on tank), then a Serpent sting, and steady until ES is off cooldown. then i fire an ES. I use steady ONLY when Aimed and ES are on cooldown. A bit more haste would help me too.
My DPs was in the crapper until i installed Poweraura. I saw it jump IMMEDIATELY.
