I don't have the answers to your questions, however as a feral druid myself if I were to try and learn to PVP - I would look at Chrille. He is, in my opinion, one of (if not) the best Feral Druid PVP'er still around.
Here are his blogs:
http://chrille.warcraftmovies.com/http://chrille.dingblog.com/blog.phpand probably equally if not more helpful would be to watch his pvp movies and just observe how he plays:
http://www.warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=99055He has made 9 movies to date, some of them are more dated, and therefore less useful than others. But many of the TBC ones are still worth checking out. Id suggest the DL rather than stream if you really want to see what is going on and how he plays.
Well happy reading and watching.. hope this helps.

-Gemming: I still prefer a full agi socketing. I have no troubles surviving arena matches in savage gear with no res gems. Some will prefer a str gemming for maximised AP. Dont forget to get 164 hit rating.
-You really need Nat.Shapeshifter, It will make a difference. Consider
this for pvp.
-Valorous does'nt have improved feral speed wich is a huge buff in every pvp aspec. Also, using savage offers the possibility to gem/enchant purely for pvp.
-I tried these partners with fairly good results:
-Mut rogue
-Arms warrior
-Prot warrior
-Frost mage
-Ret pallies
I also received really good feedback about disc priests.
avoid: other druids, locks, arcane mages.
- Remember to keep mangle and a bleed.
- Use your mobility at your advantage. Dont be afraid to run. If they are trying to catch you, your partner can push the pressure.
- Keep your cyclone keybind handy. This spell is incredible to stop focus or to cancel heals.
- Keep your maim for the kill. Maim is incredible because it is not a stun and since your partners have stuns too ( rogue, mage, warrior, pallies ), maim won't be affected by Dimish return.
- Berserk should not be reserved for kills only, Applying a lot of pressure at the beginning of a match can make more difference than keeping it to finish someone.
- Remember than you can heal but not as much as in BC.
About Finishers
FB: You are using it when the target will DIE in the next 2 seconds. It's a huge burst and you can really tear someone in pieces with this beauty but after that, you dont have energy.
Rip: This finisher is still awesome, If you are attacking a target that will be hard to kill ( healers, DK, prot warriors, etc... ), It will help a lot to keep the pressure. It's also a good way to invest combo points when you are about to switch to another target in a dual pressure strategy ( attack 2 targets at once, kill the weakest, etc... ).
Savage roar: If you know the damage you just did by keeping combo points will be healed and that you about to switch target ( ex: attacking the warrior, the druid get out of stealth and heal him ). It's a good idea to use this since it will help A LOT to kill your next target instead of dpsing the other guy.
Maim: The hardest one to master. The 1st thing to know: It's an interupt. If you are facing a caster, there no reasons to use maim asap, keep it to stop a dangerous spell or a heal. It can be also be considered as a short CC. ( focusing a healer, maim him, switch to the healer's partner's and go for the kill ).
I could continue all day long but experience will help you more than a wall of text and I got a pie in the oven.
Keep scratching backs.
