Well, roll a priest and see how you like it. We may be weak in a few aspects but our PvE healing is almost unmatchable in terms of efficiency and versatility. Shadow is also quite fun, if that's what you want.

Rolling a priest is the best thing I did. It's imo fun from lvl 1 to lvl 61 where I am now. I'm shadow, about to respecc disc, finding groups on my realm isn't that hard because of all the dk's running around. And be fighting about the dpsspot when you can be on the more rarely healingspot.
But to say if you gonna roll a priest? Yes, do, play it to 20-30, have a feel how it feels, you still having fun as I did, stay with it. But I recommend and I may have people say the differ, but spec holy upto 40 then respec shadow, faster lvling. Why holy? to increase damage on holy fire and smite, imo there is no use to specc shadow before you get shadowform, which you will get at lvl 40. But there is different taste, either you go holy all the way, or spec shadow, or disc. it's all about how you like to play. Me being Mr obvious xD

Priests are very fun to level. It is a very dull experience until level 20 where if you are spec'd shadow, you will get mind flay which makes things so much easier. Until then it's a lot of wanding and smiting. If you can make it to the 20s and are still liking it stick with it because it just gets easier from there.
Good luck!

My main is a level 38 Shadow Priest. I tried every other class to around level 15 when I got the game, and if you ask me being a Priest is the most fun.

I'm currently on my third priest. I have leveled so many alts of every single class, you could say I have alt fever. Lol. I've never really felt that one class was my main class, but I'm feeling that the priest class might be the one, finally!
I first leveled a NE shadow priest to 53 back when the cap was 60...then deleted him....then wished I never had.
Then I re-leved a Dwarf priest to 71...but realized I should have leved horde cause that's where my higher level classes are.
So now, I'm leveling an Undead Priest, I know, not another Undead Shadow Priest...But they're so Epic!
All I can say is give it a try, you'll love the priest class, they're awesome!

From a healers perspective.
I started out with a Druid back in vanilla, and had a lot of fun with it, by far the most enjoyable healer in vanilla, as I did try my buddys priest on occassions and just felt.. meh... anyho, half way through vanilla I rolled a shammy for resto, what I found to be bothersome was that enhancement was all too fun :P albeit while enjoyable, totems were not my cup of tea. A few months before TBC I rolled a Paladin and had a lot of fun with it, it was a lot more fun to play paladin healer than shaman for sure, and I also liked Paladin more than Priest.
In either case, when TBC came I leveled all my chars to 70 and found all to be boring (especially druid with Lifebloom), but I also leveled a Priest... I still found priest to be quite boring, but tbh, it seems to have gotten a lot more enjoyable come Wrath than it was previously.
Basically, If you want to heal, go Shaman if you want to be useful raid healer, go Paladin if you want to be main tank healer, or go Priest/Druid if you want to be flexible (Priest even more so).
