thanks am i right in thinking that flying mounts can only be used in outlands?
My skills (mining and engineering) are only at 95 each. Should i power level these?
I always make sure that my gathering skills are at 300 before entering Outlands at 58/60. Save all your ore/stone/gems and send to a bank alt or a guild bank until you decide on which (if any) crafting profession you choose to make.
Other than that, save your gold. Quest rewards are good enough gear for leveling so there's no need to go spend it all on level 50 blues/epics.

A lot of it can be done by simply mining (Copper, Tin, Mithril, Thorium) and then smelting the ore. I believe Smelting actually can account for a great deal of your mining grind from 0-300 nowadays (it was not always like this.)
Search on Wowhead for places to mine XXXX Ore, mine it, and then smelt it. Easy as that.

hmm.. anytips on power levelling mining or should i hop on over to professions board?
If you are horde run up and down the dead scar for copper ...I forget if that still gives a skill up around 95...a lot of tin will spawn periodically there and that will help raise engineering also...if not do it anyway it will fund your engineering as engineering is a friggin' gold sink to level up seriously.

personaly (unless you are in love with engineering like i kind of am) would drop your engineering before it sinks all your gold and pick up JCing. Altho if you are willing to sink the gold engineering is very unique (great for farming WG just quietly) as for mining stick it out and a not as good but still reasonable place to lv it is barrens (from memory)

So go from one gold sink to the other?

I would honestly just worry about maxing your Mining out asap as that will be a good money maker for you. I've never had a toon max out Engineering but imo I don't think it's any good at bringing in gold so I wouldn't worry about it for now or at least not worry about powerleveling. Like some of the other posters said I would save all the gold that you get from questing which will amount to quite alot until you hit 77 in Northrend and then buy all the training and mount at once. The only thing I would put money into for now would be your epic land mount.Definetly gett that mining up to 300 I think it is before heading to Outlands.
What he said to the letter.

I would but I can't seem to get it to work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Double click on the picture? Then post that link in avatar. If you have popups blocked it will block that.
