I never knew that "Q" was short for quest... how the hell do you shorten a one syllable word, well I guess I have seen everything now.

The quest, which was a very long chain, would require to you visit instances that were popular back during the days of Vanilla WoW. After BC, the quest was a pain to in the ass to do, and Wrath was the same story as well. That was probably why the developers removed the quest chain and made it obtainable via paladin trainers.
Also, a lot of materials you needed were very costly. I was fortunate enough to get most of the mat frees—I had a very generous and helpful Guild Master—but most people aren't as lucky, and actually had to buy the very expensive materials.

Yeah but all those mats usually added up to being about the same as people who just trained and bought their epic ground mount.

I'm pretty sure the quest is still in the game, they just give you the option to train it at 61 instead of doing the quest.
I was thrilled that I finished my level 60 mount quest for one reason, and one reason only (aside from the cool lore stuff): My favorite
tabard
in the game.

The quest is still in game, my (now 80) pala still has the q in his log and still have the mats list (arcanite bars, sungrass etc) in his bank.
It's the same with the druid swift flight form quest, u can train it at 71, but the q is still there.

Paladins get a cool tabard and druids get a great trinket.

Thats a load of .... that the mats added up to being the same cost, warlocks got off cheap (about 200g from memory if they borrowed old mats) but pallies had at least 600g in mats that were not reusable + the mats that involved farming or buying from AH at overkill prices (mind you i still loved the quest but thats another story) cost me all up just shy of 1.2k

I'm considering trying to do the quest on my pally, but I have to ask;
Does the last bit of the quest even still function properly, what with the seal and judgement changes in 3.0?
