As simple as the title suggests, are blizz planning on bringing feral offhands into play? I'm gonna take a wild guess and say no, my real question is then: why put feral AP on all of these one handers? seems pointless imo...

Feral AP isn't "put" on anything. What's displayed on the tooltip is just a convenience showing you how much FAP you would gain by wearing that item. The actual value is calculated off of the DPS of the item.

It actually was "put" on a few things it's the way they redid the FAP. So a fist weapon with no strength or agi used to give no AP for feral butnow it does.
But I do agree that it's really annoying seeing it on everything now even caster staves and what not.

so, you're correcting him, by restating what he said...

The Feral Attack Power conversion formula is (WDPS - 55) * 14, where WDPS is the Weapon DPS. And the simple thing is: druids can wear blunt one handed weapons (that is fist weapons and maces). So they can use Fist Weapons. However only
Main Hand
weapons grant Feral Attack Power. Off hand weapons do not. Thus the greatest benefit is still taken from two handed weapons. Because if the druid was able to dual wield and off hand weapons gave FAP, imagine this combo:
Calamity's Grasp
and
The Hand of Nerub
. Based on the formula, the off hand would give 1422 FAP. Thus netting a total of 3053 FAP before any multipliers and added stats. Completely overpowered when compared to the
Journey's End
, currently the best feral DPS weapon. And since off hand weapons do not grant FAP, two handed weapons remain the way to go.

Regardless, I'd love to be able to use fist main- and offhands. They could put a penalty on the offhand for instance, to skew it in the right direction. Fistweapons just have the means to look.. mean.

It would have to be a deep feral talent to dual wield. If the whole druid class could do it then restos and moonkins could dual wield 1H spell power weapons.

i think all 1Hs with spell power is "main hand only" because shamans would DW the way you suggested

I don't think so because only enhancement Shaman can DW, and why would they want to DW SP weapons?
Shaman DW is indeed an enhance thing.
But you are also right Dilla, 99% of sp weps are
MH
not
1H
. Never really thought of it before.

Same reason why every once in a while you find a DK stacking spellpower to "get bigger HB hits".
Heh... captcha = "mpits". Couldn't get the whole "armpits" in there :P

Thanks for all the useful responses peeps, got it now the wep dmg -> FAP converter across the board for Blizz's ease i guess :) maybe they will get around to takin it off swords etc one day :))
Btw if by some miracle a one hander had better FAP than a two hander, would i be right in saying go for the once hander (taking stat differences into account) and just having an empty OH/some misc stam thing in there?
P.S. this is only gonna happen very rarely if leveling or collecting an offgear or so...

@Aa: More specifically, it's 54.8 DPS minimum in that formula. The numbers don't work out exactly right if you round it up.
And I'm going to say this one more time. FAP isn't "put on" or "on" or "added to" or ANYTHING on anything.
Think about it this way. When you shift into Cat Form, part of the buff you're getting changes your character model; part of it adds your Agility as Attack Power plus a flat amount; part of it modifies your movement speed if you've talented it. Now, there's another part where
whatever
weapon you have equipped adds (DPS - 54.8) * 14 Attack Power. It's part of the Druid
class
and the Cat Form. It's not part of the weapon. The weapon
has
DPS.
We
get Attack Power
from
DPS.

I was under the impression that of-hand wepaons did half damageThere are two issues here:
1 - FAP is calculated from weapon DPS, thus it would still be the same. The druid attacks in cat form and that makes it still basically a one weapon based damage dealer, not actually swinging the weapons. Because as you well know it, ferals do not benefit from the weapon's damage itself, but from the FAP granted by it's natural DPS value and the stats on it.
2 - I found another nice thing...
Sinister Revenge
... Now imagine dual wielding THAT. I just wet my pants. I'm gonna bribe Blizzard to implement a Dual Wield talent in deep feral tree :O
