Quick question on game mechanics:
If I use a damage trinket like
Mark of the War Prisoner
and then cast a DoT like CoA, will all of CoA's ticks be affected by the +spellpower or just the ticks during the duration of the +spellpower buff?

buffs to yourself affect all spells cast during the buff and, in the case of DoTs, continue as long as the DoT does. debuffs on the target only effect the damage as long as the debuff remains.

So what you're saying is that all spells cast during the duration of a buff will profit from the buff (which is obvious) but that after the buff on you expires, the debuff on the target made by your DoTs no longer profit from the buff since you don't have it anymore. In short all damage is only even affected by your current buffs?

i confused you a little by mentioning debuffs.
the answer is the full duration of the DoT benefits from the trinket.
to go a little further, you proc a trinket then you cast corruption. after 2 ticks the proc wears off you but the following 4 licks of corruption still have the higher damage.
what i was explaining in my first reply was the difference between a buff on you (trinket, demonic pact, shaman totem etc) and a debuff on the target which causes it to take more damage (CoElements, ebon plague etc).
i'm going to get a bit more complicated so i hope you've followed so far.
imagine a series of events:
you proc a trinket. you cast corruption. you cast CoElements.
the trinket DOES need to be on before you cast corruption for the corruption ticks to be increased.
if you cast CoElements after 2 ticks of corruption the remaining 4 ticks will still get the damage bonus from elements.
trinket > cast corruption > tick1 1000 > tick2 1000 > cast CoE > tick3 1100 > trinket wears off > tick4 1100 > tick5 1100 > tick6 1100
the rule is that buffs on the player must be in place before casting DoTs. debuffs on the target can be applied after the DoTs are cast.

So a good strategy would be to recast dots shortly before the trinket wears off to get the bonus even while the trinket is not active anymore.
So when you guys fire up a trinket, what is your rotation, like for example:
trinket > dots > SB/Inc > trinket is about to wear off, recast all dots even if that means clipping > SB/Inc spam > refresh dots as needed?
