Don't forget also that in instances and such you have to move around, position yourself and its tougher to keep up the perfect rotation with movement and positioning.
In attacking a dummy there's no moving and its constant DPS.

So I used one of the heroic training dummies to check my dps with my feral cat, and on recount it said I had 1600 dps. Now when I go to Nexus I could only put out 1300.
What am I doing wrong with the training dummy? Because I don't want to check how my dps is by doing groups.
Because in the Nexus you're not fighting a training dummy.
There are many more complexities to a dungeon than there are when fighting a training dummy that will affect your DPS.
