Duke Hydraxis quests - Anything lead to them?

Alright, so I had this big, long-winded post lined up but then my browser buggered up and I lost it, so I'm going to be short and sweet:
Are there any quests that lead you to Duke Hydraxis?
I'm aware of where he is, and yes I can just go talk to him, but I'm very curious about how you're expected to find him there in the middle of nowhere if there are, in fact, no quests leading to him.
If not quests, do any NPCs imply his location? I know it sounds weird, but I'm just super-curious about old-world content as I started playing a couple of weeks before BC.

Well, no quests that he end require you to go to him as a starting quest, so it is safe to assume that he does not have one like that. The reason for this would be that most people pre-BC ended up questing EVERYWHERE to get to 60, as I did on my warrior. There are a few quests have have you pass near him, so people would notice him.

Ahh, so that's the case. Thanks a lot, gives me a little piece of mind.

I didn't ask if he had any quests, I asked if there were quests to lead me to him.

There is this instance called Molten Core to lead you to him...

Well, we can be condescending all day, but it really doesn't go anywhere.
Molfsontan seems to have answered my question, but in case it wasn't in plain English in the first place, I was asking if there were any literal directions to visit Hydraxis, or if you are simply expected to find him and think, "Oh, who's this crazy dude here," and proceed to quest for him.
I'm aware that, when working on Molten Core, you will be advised by other players naturally to seek this NPC out since, until the most recent patch, you -had- to communicate with him in order to attempt the final boss of MC. I merely wanted to know if there was any other manner in which you're directed to see this NPC besides other players or reading online.
With a quick inspection of his "Ends" tab for quests, he clearly doesn't have any quests to turn in which involve simply talking to him, as many major NPCs is remote locations usually have, that's why I asked this question.
I'm fully aware you don't
have
to know about something like that. Yes, I know he's there, and yes I can go talk to him right now. That's the case and assumption at this point. He's there, go talk to him. It was for my own curiosity that I was asking.
For example, when you hit level 70, the Flight Master in Shattrath will give you a quest to go to your respective flight trainer and Flying Mount vendor. Yes, most everyone knows at this point where it is, and just skips said quest, but the fact remains that this quest is how you "know" about flying mount training.
I was merely wondering if there was something along these lines for Duke Hydraxis.

I think the reason there are no breadcrumb quests for him is that he is a very old NPC, as is the Molten Core. It was in the game right from the start, back before Blizzard got a lot of experience about what works well in an MMO. Breadcrumb quests are only occasionally found in Azeroth, but once you get to Outland and Northrend there are breadcrumbs for pretty much everything.

So it was just mostly assumed that you'd find him at some point before doing MC? I can only imagine the first MC group doing all the bosses minus Ragnaros, then sitting there like "um...now what?" having not obtained the items to douse the flames.

Well, you do get hydraxian waterlords rep every time you kill an MC boss, that would have told people someone out there cared about what they were doing.
Edit: By the way, you would be missing out on Majordomo as well as Ragnaros without the dousing stuff. Majordomo doesn't spawn until all runes are doused. Or actually, I think they changed that now, but that's how it used to be.

Okay, cool, that's all I wanted to know. Thanks a lot guys, it really helps me trying to experience the game completely the way I want.
And thanks for the note about missing Majordomo as well. I've never done MC, but, as you can imagine with this thread, it's the next on my list.
