Since the official WoW forums seem to be all messed up at the moment, I'm reposting the thread I left there on here to see if any of you have any ideas for me. Here's my original post:
I currently have a full TBC account and have been running WoW up to patch 3.0.8 using the Burning Crusade expansion. I recently decided to try out the WOTLK 10-day trial, which I signed up for last night. As a result, I was told in WoW to download the WOTLK expansion in order to take advantage of the trial. So using the WoW installer utility, I downloaded and installed the expansion... which set my client version back to 3.0.1. I was able to update the client to 3.0.2, but when executing the update to 3.0.3 I get the following error message:
The patch "enUS\DBFilesClient\GroundEffectTexture.dbc" could not be applied. (CRC mismatch: expected 0xf86ee458, actual 0xa1a9e930.) If this problem persists, you may be able to solve it by uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. If you are unable to correct this problem, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (BNUpdate::PTCApply)
To check this installation for problems, click the "Repair" button. The Repair tool can automatically fix many update errors.
I've run the repair utility numerous times and it finds nothing wrong. I've uninstalled and reinstalled WoW twice and the exact same thing occurs. I've even deleted and re-downloaded the patch. If I attempt to run WoW after the attempt to update to 3.0.3 I get an error message stating:
This application has encountered a critical error:
ERROR #131 (0x85100083) File Corrupt
Program: D:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Wow.exe
File: DBFilesClient\GroundEffectTexture.dbc
Press OK to terminate the application.
I also get an error report which states the same thing.
For one I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong or how I can resolve this issue. If this cannot be handled in a timely manner, I would like my trial to be temporarily suspended or cancelled, since I was really looking forward to trying it out.

Error 131
The "Error 131" error message is usually caused by corrupt game files.
The first approach to resolving this error should always be the repair tool. The repair tool is located in the World of Warcraft folder called repair.exe:
Right Click on the World of Warcraft Shortcut and choose Properties
Click the Find Target button in the bottom left of the Shortcut tab.
This will display the World of Warcraft folder.
Double Click on the Repair program and choose the Reset and Check files option.
This will create a backup of your WTF, WDB and Interface folders before resetting them and then begin scanning your installation for any problems.
The second step, as the repair tool will sometimes advise, is to reinstall World of Warcraft. Before reinstalling, be sure to uninstall World of Warcraft first by using the provided short-cut placed in World of War crafts Start Menu folder or by using the Add/Remove Programs tool in the Control Panel.

Yeah, I tried both of those approaches already. The repair tool finds nothing wrong. After reinstalling the client will actually work after updating it to 3.0.2... other than not allowing me to log in due to being outdated... The 3.0.3 update seems to be what's corrupting WoW.exe... I just don't know why or how.
And yes, I've deleted and re-downloaded the patch a few times... it's still the same result.
