mmm... Shamen aren't tanks... You might be able to take more damage than a mage, but they're not a tanking class.

Shamans don't tank.
Druids actually are one of the four tanking classes.

In the early days of the game, there was some effort to make shamans a viable tanking class, but that was back when Blizzard was trying to keep shamans and paladins roughly equivalent. However, now that both classes are cross-faction, their roles have significantly diverged. Shamans can perform some tanking duties in a pinch, but they don't really have the spec or gear to be actual tanks.

I have a guildie that we have forced to tank as a shaman before. It really isnt to bad with the right talants, plenty of stam, and if your healer is on his toes.
By the way, this only works for normal 5-mans. We have never been abe to accomplish this in heroics, or dared try in any raid.
Basically, shamans aren't real tanks anymore. Druids, Warriors, Paladins, or Death Knights as already stated above.
