Well first off your spec is not good, at all. Dont mean to be mean but your 51 points in SV should be spent like this and 16 in MM like this

Hey everyone, I am sure I will catch alot of grief over this, but whatever. Prior to the new patch I was BM and was dependant on my Steady shot and volly for my dps. Now that they nerfed hunter class, my dps has been terrible. can someone explain to me in normal verbage, what I can do to get my dps up? I swtiched to Survival, and could barley get over 1k dps... any help would be great. thanks!

1. hit rating. Period. With Focused Aim, you still need more hit than you have. I am no fan of FA anyway, so I would shoot for the hard 264 hit cap (8%) if you can. FA does NOT help our pets with hit. hit from gear does. When you miss, you do nothing for DPS.
2. Re-gem some of your gear and re-enchant some of your stuff. AP does less for us than Agility does now as survival.
3. Put at least 2 (I went with 3) points in Improved aspect of the hawk. This will give you more haste when it procs, allowing more Steady's between Explosive shots.
4. Get the serpent sting, Steady shot, and IAOTH glyphs.
5. Respec.you want improved trcking, that is 5% more damage free. you want survival instincts. Wing clip and sure footed do nothing for DPS, nor does survival tactics or deflection. you want exposed weakness (I put 2 in it). And 2 in hunting party is likely enough.

I have respec to SV from BM and do better on SV than I did on BM. You just have to find a good rotation. I average 2.4k DPS now.

basically you do not need 2 points in got for the throat, my cirt chance on my own is 33% and raid buffed it is up to 43-45%, when master tactician procs, i have well over 50% crit, so your pet will not be starved.
must have at least 1 point in Improved aspect of the hawk, and then get the glyph.
you want 3/3 improved stings, considering you will have the serpent sting glyph to make it last 6 secs longer, and you should ALWAYS have serpent sting up as survival
I put 3/3 sniper training, cuz in most the fight i am in i can stay 30+ yards away from boss and not have to worry, only a couple do i need to be close, but then i still get the extra 15% crit to my kill shot, which you can use 3-4 times now if timed right.
My crit rate is around 31%, but even with that, i was finding my cat focus starved MOST of the time with 1 point in GffT. When I was BM, he was never focus started. I haven't exactly figured out WHY now, since my crit is higher (and I took CotW off auto cast). So, I put 2 points in for now. Once I get my crit up, and haste up, I will return to 1 and give it a shot.
I still am not convinced on SV being the ONLY spec right now. Some folks are putting out some decent damage as BM. The spirit beast got a HUGE buff. hop over to BRK's site and check out how much damage his spirit beast has been doing in vault raids. Is impressive. And it is easily the best looking pet in the game...hands down.

I would imagine it's because you no longer have Bestial Discipline.

BC days did not need hunters? The old EW was the poo. 25% of my insanely high agility was real nice. Plus before aura's were raid wide, if you were MM everyone wanted you in the group. And if you ran with a lot of physical dps, imp Hunter's Mark was nice. Then don't forget BM 3% increase. I really enjoyed BC compared to WotlK. Took a lot more skill to be a good player. Plus raids were more challenging it seemed. I just hope the new content is gonna be harder.
