I love tanking as blood.
Just last night I was in a group with a warrior, a paladin, a warlock, myself, and a priest. We got to the Halls of Lightning and discovered that all 3 of the plate wearers were tank specced. Anyway, we /rolled for the tank spot, I won, and so we went ahead with me tanking the dungeon.
I was worried that aggro would be a problem, as we're all aggro-machines with our specs, but there were actually no problems - even with the AoE pulls that are typically a weak spot for blood. We had trouble with pats walking in on almost every encounter, but I was still able to hold the hate and make the healer's job easy.
The biggest difficulty with the whole experience was that the battles were LONG. The DPS was low, because of the tanks being forced to DPS by circumstances, and the healer was afraid of running out of mana. Because of Rune Strike and Heart Strike, I was able to DPS pretty well while main tanking - I actually had the most DPS of anyone. At the same time, I was able to use Death Strike, Rune Tap, Vampiric Blood, Blood Worms, and Blood Aura to take a LOT of the pressure off of the healer, and we only wiped once (accidental pull, everyone was oom). I easily held the threat, did top damage in the group, and was second on healing done.
The second boss was an accidental pull... we lagged, and then the trash mobs we'd been fighting got really unwieldy and actually pulled the boss on us. I had to deal with the trash, the boss, and the boss' adds all at once- and did so successfully, immediately grabbing the hate, pulling them into one spot so that we could burn them down as quickly as 3 tanks can.
On Loken, the healer went oom when the boss still had about 25%+ life left. I started focusing entirely on healing myself and was able to tank Loken and self heal while the other 3 dps'ed him down the last quarter of his life. Afterwards everyone was like "holy crap, did we just beat him!" and I just said "yeah, Self Healing FTW."
I've tried unholy and frost tanking, but I've just had so much more fun blood tanking because it is so different from any other kind of tanking. I don't think I'll ever switch! :)

I'm a blood tank, the first thing I'll say is that your blood tanking build is HORRIBLE. Don't judge blood tanks negatively based on what you saw because I can tell you right now you were that guy that got his ass beat regularly trying to tank as blood.
Butchery = worthless
1 Point in bladed armor? = CMON!
1 point in dark conviction? (seeing a trend here..)
No bloody vengeance? Hell you didn't even finish with Toughness!
WotN is crap, and Sudden Doom is a DPS talent only.
Abominations Might is only useful if you don't have anyone that gives a similar effect in your party (I.E. shammy totems n such).
Then to top if off when you went into UH tree you only picked up worthless talents for the most part.
On a pale horse - lends nothing to ANYTHING except travel (and sometimes PvP)
Unholy Command, Ravenous Dead, Shadow of Death = worthless worthless worthless!

This is my build (Abominations Might is what I keep for 5mans) When I'm geared up enough to raid I will drop AM and probably pick up CE or something.
You $%^& me off looking at that thing you called a tank build -_-;

Are you guys not reading his post? He didn't have a problem tanking, even with his less than perfect Blood spec. His issue was that it wasn't as good outside tanking, so he respecced to something that was more usable for dps and PVP.
